French House Arrest X: Bob Sinclar - Paradise

In the height of the french house boom, around 1998, Bob Sinclar (Cristophe Le Friant), also known under his Breakbeat pseudonym the Mighty Bop, released his breakthrough album 'Paradise' which included the infamous Thomas Bangalter co-produced track 'Gym Tonic'. This is his most classic sounding album, coming before his careening into pop-stardom, reminiscent of early Daft Punk, Cassius, and I:Cube, good stuff, funky, disco-ey, jazzy, and cool as a cucumber. A must have for any French House fan. Enjoy>>>

Yellow@TheLight

Recently stumbled upon a podcast run by a guy named Chris LaMura, otherwise known as Yellow@TheLight. If you check any of the track lists of these Podcasts, you'll immediately see why I like em. Having gotten in contact with him, I found out that he works and spins regularly at Pacha NY and actually makes some tracks of his own too, which he cleared to share with you right now. Speaking of Pacha, we're probably gonna head out there on Nov 27 to see David Guetta, if any of your readers are gonna be in NY you should definitely go.

-M

Swagger (Yellow@TheLight Remix) - Tom Cosm
His most recent track, big Electro House banger. Lots of interesting shit happening with all the synths, keeps you guessing every break.

Force Of Gravity (Yellow@TheLight ReWork) - BT
A little more Progressive (I mean, it is a remix of BT), but still a great Electro House jam.

Check out his Podcast HERE, my personal favorite is episode 6...

Das Germans!

When I think of Electro House, I usually think of Germany. This country just cranks em out like an assembly line. Hell, just search German in the little search bar over to the right and you'll see a good chunk of your favorite Electro House names pop up left and right. One of mine is named D'Azoo At Night, who hasn't really been featured on this blog yet, so...

D'Azoo At Night! He's German! And he makes awesome Electro House, with some Prog tracks and some that are just pure Trance. His tracks for the most part are on the darker side, compared to fellow Germans like Klaas or PH Electro. Enjoy:

-M

Tango In Tokyo (Extended Mix) - D'Azoo At Night
Such a great sample. MASSIVE TRACK ALERT.

Day And Night (Original Mix) - D'Azoo At Night
Really really really big room Progressive track. I can just imagine the sub bass on this exploding at a massive.

Bodyrock (Original Mix) - D'Azoo At Night
Drops so hard.

Why You Hurt Me (Club Mix) - D'Azoo Night
This one's Trance. It's basically like his Prog song but sped up with a super spacey/epic breakdown/buildup.

Zeggie - Afrojack
+10 Bastille Love and Admiration Points for whoever catches the reference he makes at the very end of the track.

Never fails to be amazing

Popof is incredible. What can I say, by far the best minimal producer to date and it doesn't look like he's stopping any time soon with his amazing productions. Here are what I'm pretty sure are all relatively new tracks, in case you havn't gotten them from somewhere else first. By now you should understand that these will all be good, and there's no point picking and choosing which ones to get.

-J

Bitchy Groove (Original Mix) by Popof, Ballin

Do You Want Me (Original Mix) by Popof, Baller

E Doser (Original Mix) by Popof, Huge Boss

Faces 'Uch (Original Mix) by Popof, Banger

High & Down (Original Mix) by Popof, you get the point.

All of them Zipped

If you want more Popof go here

Sunday Bloody Sunday

Yesterday I was drunk for a straight 13 hours. I'll tell you right now, probably wasn't the best idea.

-M

Jeffer (Modeselektor Remix) - Boys Noize
Hell yeah, this track is awesome. Super dancey and Ravey in that Modeselektor style.

I Didn't Know My Own Strength (Daddy's Groove Club Mix) - Whitney Houston
Daddy's Groove blow me away again. Progressive Bomb.

8000 - Proxy
Different from his other stuff, still very heavy Electro but sounds a lot more mature to me especially due to the big House influence. I like.

Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix) - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
In case you missed this one (must have been very difficult to do so, but I know some of our readers don't subscribe to the whole popular Discodust thing).

Way of Love (Dave Darell Remix) - Tocadisco Feat. Vangosh
Nice Prog track from one of my favorites. He can really kill any style he goes for. The super detuned lead is incredible in this one.

Inbox Gems

This is the kind of father J hopes to be one day.

Just thought Id take a quick pause from normal programming to bring you some great tracks that were submitted to us recently. Go Team!

-M

Pure Disco Shit - DJ Jonathan Potts

Big Deadmau5 influence in this one, awesome Electro House jam with big elements of Tech. He's from the US, and according to his bio is the youngest DJ to have been ranked in the DJ Top 100 list. I left his links in the album part of the track if you want to find out more about him.

Fly Life (Jeremy Word Remix) - Basement Jaxx
Cool Electro House jams, a lot going on in this one with the sounds. Don't really have any info on him, but I gots this video:

You can buy the track in that oh so delicious video HERE.

Also, gonna give a big shout out to Awkward Family Photos. Ending up on that site means that you've lost at life.

Batch #5

I don't understand this comic, it's not funny and in fact as I run an EDM blog I'm kind of offended. I don't know why I put it as the pictures for this batch, but for some reason even though the comic is completely off, it feel right to have it as the picture.

Shadow Dancer tonight.

Batch #5 all 320

-J

Do They Know (Tech Room Minimal Mix) by Dj Alex F, I definitely enjoyed this one. Cool eerie voice saying saying a kind of cool line "you're here because you listen." Good Job with this one.

Control (Dimaro Remix) by DNM & Dimaro, this song is in some ways one of the strangest songs made. Like the beginning and what I guess I could call the main line kinda of sounds like Hardwell to me. And it has that really cool high synth line. However, the middle trance section (and it's like that REALLY triumphant shit which makes your friends laugh at you) and drop back into the minimal from it just doesn't really make too much sense in my mind. But it's actually not bad, kinda cool.

Control (Dimitri Vegas & Like-Mike Re-edit) by DNM & Dimaro, The electro house version of the song. Pretty good, doesn't have that cool line from the Dimaro but good for a bangers set. The buildup makes more sense in this song then it does in the Dimaro version. In some ways that makes this a more fluid song.

Believe by Prodigious, Great love that line

Shake This Town Up (The Bulgarian tastes like Feta Mix) by Anarchy Rice, first of all when this goes into your itunes or whatever you use the name's going to be wrong. I didn't notice the name was weird until I started posting it. Oops, oh well. Really cool song, not as traditional electro I feel for some reason.

Lazy Rich EP:

Disco Ballistic (Original Mix) by Lazy Rich, Super cool line. Good sounds, what more could you ask from electro House.

Funkjet (Original Mix) by Lazy Rich, This song is great but for some reason I feel like the sidechaining on it might turn out weird on big speakers. In my car it was sidechaning too much and the bass was kind of being drown out by the kick. I should take another listen. But otherwise a really well done. Highly Recommend.

Bonuses in case you want, pretty good I gotta say:

Taipei Pocok Salata (Dub Mix) by Soliquid

Taipei Pocok Salata (Jason Taylor Remix) by Soliquid

Everything Zipped into one.

Have a great weekend.

PH Electro Madness!

PH Electro is rather mysterious, since he doesn't have a myspace and his discogs page doesn't tell me where he's from. If I had to guess, he's German, since he sounds a LOT like Klaas. His tracks are super structured, cheesy, and generally similar sounding. However, they're all AWESOME in that way. Really great tracks to just get people at a party pumped and happy. Enjoy!

Update: His name is Paul Hutch, and he is in fact a Kraut. Apparently he makes trance, I guess this is his Electro House pseudonym. Thanks Anonymous.

-M

After the Love (PH Electro Remix) - R.I.O.
Definitely my favorite of his tracks, you can't not just smile your ass off to this one. The highlight is the "YES!" right before the last drop, you'll hear it.

Evacuate The Dancefloor (PH Electro Mix) - Cascada
Cascada is a German Goddess, no?

Alive (PH Electro Remix) - Mondotek
Super Cheese.

And who could forget this video J posted a while back with the Mondotek Remix:

Style Of Eye Remixes

I've been meaning to post about this dude for a while now. His name's Style Of Eye (such an awesome name) and he's definitely one of the top Tech House producers around. Super Ravey, super Minimal, never boring. Dude's got a lot of material, so this post will only feature his remixes. Maybe I'll post his originals later, but I highly recommend that everyone go find his album (and if you find it in good quality please let me know, the one I've got is shit).

-M

Mars (Style of Eye's Tool For School Remix) - Fake Blood
This is exploding on blogs everywhere right now, and got me excited about this post. He took Fake Blood's unforgettable banger and translated it into something PERFECT for a massive sound system and Rave crowd. What a remix.

Remedy (Style of Eye Remix) - Little Boots
Holy shit, this track is NUTS.

Heartbeats (Style of Eye Remix) - The Knife
Pretty old track (2004), way more Housey than his newer stuff. I really like this one.

Leave (Style Of Eye Vocal Remix) - V. V. Brown
Another fucking nuts track.

Way of Love (Style of Eye Remix) - Tocadisco Feat. Vangosh
I feel like J will love this one. Super crisp production.

I Won't Kneel (The Bloody Beetroots Remix) - Groove Armada

batch #4

Batch #4, let's get this done. That guy in the pictures just looks awesome, my role model for sure. PEACE PLAYAS.

-J

ALL in 320:

Let's start out with this syntheticz EP:

I didn't like this EP at first, but it's really grown on me. I've come to really love this EP. I guess I would categorize this as Techno, but at the same time it's a lot more. It's got a very electro feel to it in some ways, but I guess I can't pinpoint why. It's not as dark as most other techno, it feels more weird then dark. I think it's the sound and the bass which is why that's the case.

Fujiza (Atomic Mix) by Syntheticz

Fujiza (Original Mix) by Syntheticz (My personal Favorite of the EP)

Mezon (Hands Mix) by Syntheticz

Ep Zipped into one.

Metalworld (Son of a Beat Remix) by Forza, incredible, just amazing. Techno at it's best. You gotta wait for the bass, it's fucking crazy. Catches me by surprise every time

Metalworld (Vazik remix) by Forza, not as good as the one above, but definitely worth getting.

Needles & Pins (Original Mix) by Meat Katie, I like it but nothing I would put in a mix.

El Cubo (Original Mix) by Dich, this is another one of those things that grew on me. But somehow kind of forgettable. But I thought I'd post it because it does have a certain je ne said quoi.

Now for some Electro House:

Ball (Original Mix) by Frederik Olufsen, Kills it.*Taken Down*

Ball (Lazy Rich Remix) by Frederik Olufsen, Lazy Rich has been busy, and it's really been paying off. Becoming one of the standards for Electro house. Sounds more Gartnerish then the above original Mix. Hard to decide which one I would play. This one might drop harder.

Devotion (Original Mix) by Bingo Players, you should already have and love this. But in case you don't have a 320

Devotion (Patric La Funk Remix) by Bingo Players, this guy has really been pulling out a lot of good stuff.

Let Them Eat Mixtapes

We (aka Bastille) have started a project with our buddies over at The New Confusion called Let Them Eat Mixtapes, where we will run a mix series on their site. The site just recently launched and I highly advise all of you to go check it out, it's a great place for interesting perspectives, art, and ESPECIALLY Hip-hop (definitely where I go to learn about new artists that don't always subscribe to four-on-the-floor beats). However, in wanting to expand their musical boundaries, they decided to collaborate with us in this mixtape project. While we will definitely be putting our own mixes up there often, I'm asking friends (and all you readers) to help by sending us mixtapes that you want to be included. We're open to all genres, but please nothing longer than an hour, and send to apeswithbarrels@gmail.com. The first mixtape posted is our own Dub Sack mix, which is all Dubstep (you may have copped it when it was posted here a few weeks back). You can check out the series HERE, and I look forward to hearing your submissions.

-M

BONUS (I wouldn't leave you without at least ONE jam):
Sweet Disposition (Axwell & Dirty South Remix) - Temper Traps
Been on loop for the past few days. It was buried in my downloads folder and I JUST got to it, and boy am I glad.

Batch #3

Here's the third batch, let's do it. All 320.

-J

7 days and one week remixes: the song 7 days and one week by B.B.E. has an awesome line in it that can really fit to so many types of music, so of course a bunch of awesome remixes came with it, don't miss these.

7 days and one week (Emalkay Remix) by B.B.E., awesome with that dubstepy bass with it. So cool, definitely good for a chiller laidback set.

7 days and one week (Joachim Garraud Remix) by B.B.E., Garraud throwing bangers at us left and right. Has that eerie line from the original with an awesome electro bass underneath

7 days and one week (Genji Yoshida Remix) by B.B.E. more of a minimally feel with a sort of electro bass, not the best of them, but definitely really cool

7 days and one week (Armin Prayd Remix) by B.B.E. has that prog feel.

This Marcus Shossow EP is incredible in case you didn't get these two aleady:

Tequila (Original Mix) by Marcus Shossow, kinda sounds Laidback Lukish/Swedish House Mafia in a way. Really cool with that latin guitar during the breaks.

Space (Original Mix) by Marcus Shossow, one of my favorite songs that I've found in the past week. Tech at it's best, kinda with that Dubfire feel to it.

Charge (Ivan D Remix) by Alan T & Alex Poxada, Tech tech tech tech tech

I Want You (Bastian Van Shield Remix) by Spencer and Hill, I can't remember if I had this and just recently refound it, but this is awesome. Just an incredible take on the original song which is also great. Highly Highly Highly Recommended.

Disco Of Doom EP War Pig is just incredible.

War Pig (Original Mix) by Disco of Doom, kinda has that electro bass Petits Pilous feel but with a more tech aspect to it. More minimal and awesome

Spawn Again (Original Mix) by Disco of Doom, it speaks for itself.

Bingo Players

Keeping up with our Minimal streak, let's do some Dutch House. Dutch House rules. Bingo Players are definitely in the running for the top producers coming out of Holland, at least in my book. Shit's Mimimal, Ravey, Dancey, and hits incredibly hard. This one's a rather large collection, so for those crazy people like me that actually DO download the zips, enjoy sifting through these ;)

-M

Muzik (Bingo Players Remix) - Villanord
One of the greatest drops in all of House music, and I truly stand by that claim. Awesome tribal feel to this one.

Disco Electrique (Vocal Mix) - Chocolate Puma & Bingo Players
SUCH A COOL BASS SOUND. And the vocals are catchy. Chocolate Puma are another Dutch outfit worth checking out (which you can conveniently do HERE).

Lapdance (Bingo Players Bootleg) - N.E.R.D.
Just really really awesome. Great vocal samples and beat.

Special (Bingo Players Remix) - Sir James
I feel like this would make a Rave crowd go crazy.

Hardwell

Hardwell is a young (I think 21/22) Tech House producer (with lots of Progessive influence) from the Netherlands. Not to be confused with 'Dutch House,' he's got a very different sound than the other Dutchmen, aka less Tribal/Hip-hop influence, more like a pure blend between Techno and Progressive House. However, he remixes a lot of the other Dutch guys, and to great effect. Fantastic Rave music, hits really Hardwell. And from that picture, he kind of looks like Laidback Luke, no?

-M

Display (Original Mix) - Hardwell
Pure Tech House awesomeness. Really catchy and amazing.

Foreign Affair (Hardwell Remix) - Sylver
You can really hear the Prog in this one. His high synth lines are just always so catchy and amazing.

Twilight Zone (Original Mix) - Hardwell
A lot like the above track, just different key and line. The melodies just get me every time.

Moombah (Hardwell & Rehab Remix) - Chuckie
Rave rave rave rave rave rave, loving the Tech take on this ever so popular track.

Hardwell Collection

BONUS:
Tear The Club Up (Avicii vs Philgood Remix) - Zoo Brazil (REMOVED)
Tech House BOMB!!!!

Was That A Ghost?

Nope, it's Spektre, a Techno duo out of the UK composed of Filthy Rich and Paul Maddox. This is definitely one of my favorite Techno outfits. The one thing that units all of these tracks is that they all scream Rave. If you like Techno, Minimal, whatever, DO NOT MISS THESE TRACKS. Enjoy:

-M

Lift Us Up (Spektre Mix) - M.0
Awesome. Big Progressive touch to this one as well. Most recent track if I'm not mistaken.

Dagobert (Spektre Remix) - Marco G & Amin Golestan
Ravey as hell. I would totally play this at a Massive, or any outdoor event.

PS.You Rock (Spektre Remix) - Marc DePulse
Pure Rave, all sort of little textures and such that will make a crowd go nuts.

Hover - Spektre
First track of theirs I heard, their originals are definitely not as polished/intricate as their remixes, but goddam I love that chippy sound in this one, such a great hook.

Fergielicious

I don't know about you, but I don't find anything delicious about that picture. But this post isn't about that London bridge bitch, but rather Fergie the Techno DJ/Producer from the UK. He makes some really minimal, ravey shit, very similar to someone like Umek. This blog has definitely been going on a Techno streak, so I figure I'll keep it going with this and a few more Techno posts. Once again, please don't hesitate to requests particular artists and genres in the comments, we're more than happy to accommodate.

-M

Zephyr (Fergie Remix) - Fiord
His newest track, so many things happening with all the sounds, so trippy.

Softie (Fergie Remix) - Reset Robot
This one is incredibly ravey, would totally destroy your rave crowd.

Trouble In Paradise (Variation On A Theme) (Fergie Excentric Mix) - UNKLE
EPIC breakdowns. And a really great example of Techno as a genre.

batch #2, some more shit

Here's the second batch I promised yesterday. There should be a third as well, and after finding more of Koen Groeneveld's stuff, I've decided he's definitely worth a post to himself, so that should be in the near future as well. Here are some goodies:

-J

All in 320:

Rain (Benny Benassi Club Remix) by Mika, Benassi hasn't made anything bad in such a long time, it must of course make sense that this as well is good.

Redux (Original Mix) by Format:B, I love this song so much, it's going to get me to go get more Format:B

Bad Seed (D-Nox and Beckers Remix) by Erphun feat. Carl Gold, I love minimal. Don't you know you're a bad seed. There are these little sounds in the background around 2:30 which are just so cool.

La Mezcla (Original Mix) by Michael Woods & Ant Brooks, has that popof sound going off every once in a while. Gotta love that flute. So trippy. So minimal.

Tropical Chicks (Original Mix) by Alex Kenji, just wait for the buildup. Makes no sense, but kind cool at the same time.

Boys & Girls (Extended Mix) by Martin Solveig feat. Dragonette, the most electro-pop thing I've posted in a while, but I REALLY love this song. SO catchy, even though it's so cheesy. Definitely my favorite, puts all the remixes to shame. I could be your boy you could be my girl.

Though I really do like this one, at least better then Laidback's:

Boys & Girls (Bart B More Dans Tes Rave Remix) by Martin Solveig feat. Dragonette, definitely worth copping.

Golf Club

This is a little video for Kitsune Maison 8, which I thought was pretty cute, I guess. But what's more exciting is that this Comp album will feature tracks from the likes of Siriusmo (YES), Moulinex, and Harvard Bass among others. It comes out Nov 30, so be sure to grab a copy. Until then I'll leave you with this gem, my personal favorite of the tracks featured in the video.

-M

High Together - Siriusmo

A Quick Mix

Sorry about doing two posts so close to each other, but as I just uploaded this mix and was trying to be productive so I decided to post it here before I forgot which would be likely. This isn't the newest mix, in fact I made it a while back, but I'm quite proud of this one, and I put a lot of effort into making it. I'm pretty sure I never posted it. It has a more progressive/minimal feel aside from the Spencer and Hill. Not necessarily the newest tracks, but definitely some of the best and some of my favorites.
-J

Don't Forget by Bastille 33 Minutes Long

Tracklist:

Alamo (Tv Rock Remix) by Dirty South

Pangea Better Ways (Original Mix) by Albin Myers

Reduction (Original Mix) by Deadmau5

Yin (Original Mix) by Wolfgang Gartner

Valhalla (Audible Retouch Mix) by Audible

La La Song (Spencer and Hill Remix) by Bob Sinclair

Massive Joy (Thomas Gold Remix) by Carlos Russo

Float My Boat (Pablo Decoder Remix) by Lazy Jay

We Are (Avicii Remix) by Dirty South Feat. Rudy

I'm pretty sure you can find all of these tracks on this blog, but if that's not the case and you want one of the tracks be sure to tell me.

Three EPs

This is Hilarious.

Here are three Eps, Koen Groeneveld, Blende, and Nadastrom that I recently got and that I've really been enjoying these last few days. I will also be putting up a second batch in the near future. Koen Groeneveld really really impressed me with these minimal songs. I'm currently in the process of getting more of his stuff to see what it's like. If I like it, I'll be doing a post on him, so definitely check that out. The Nadastrom is also amazing, and funnily enough the Nadastrom EP and the Koen Groeneveld Ep mix really well together. I definitely recommend trying to mix em, you'll see what I mean. But then again, it's more likely that they mix because the Koen Groeneveld is just really simple and easy to mix. And Blende really never dissapoints.

All 320.

-J
Shitty Cover.
Microburst Ep:
Stalled (Original Mix) by Koen Groeneveld, Really great, really minimal, love it. Highly recommended.

Microburst (Original Mix) by Koen Groeneveld, Just as amazing, if not better then Stalled, also Highly Recommended.

I highly recommend the EP, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna put of those songs into my next minimal mix that I make.

Awesome Cover.
The Saved EP:

Ghetto (Original Mix) by Nadastrom, Definitely not my favorite but it has it's moments.

Save Us (Original Mix) by Nadastrom, the catchiest horn line ever. So good. I think I would play this at a party at Oberlin, it's not too ravey, I think I could get away with it.

Squarez (Original Mix) by Nadastrom, much more minimal but so fucking cool. Just amazing.

Boring Cover.
Northern School Ep:

Northern School V1 by Blende, So good electro house at it's best. Blende really is one of the masters at what he does.

Northern School (Acid Jacks "Metalzone" Remix) by Blende, Fucking tight, would be great for one of those more grimey electro sets, could fit in well with like more hardcore BBR and some Sebastian.

All the EPs zipped into one, with Ghetto by Nadastrom (Forgot to add it).

5 out of 5 stars for each of these EPs, I've done nothing but listen to these guys all week. Enjoy.

10 October 2009

Spencer and Hill Compilation best of part 1

I love Spencer and Hill, definitely top of the top electro-house producers. Wolfgang beats them, Dave Darrel sometimes does but isn't as consistent, and Dabruck and Klein have a bunch of amazing tracks but I don't think they beat Spencer and Hill. I would recommend going to that collection site if A. you're a dj, because you might want as much as you can get or if you have a bunch of their tracks that arent in 320 this collection was basically all 320. B. Because I said so. A lot of these tracks are not new, and I might have thrown in a few newer ones, not necessarily the newest.

Go here to go to that huge post full of Spencer And Hill, here and here are a few older posts of ours.

It's the weekend, which means I expect all you to at least be drunk one of those nights. Throw some of these tunes on if you so please, and see the desired effect, you'll understand.

-J

The Girl and The Robot (Spencer And Hill Remix) by Royksopp, by far the best remix of this song I've heard, beating the Elan by a long shot. I've been listening to this track on repeat for like 2 weeks now, if you havn't already gotten it, this is the time. This will probably be in most of my sets for a little while.

Cry for you (Spencer and Hill Extended) by September, Michael showed me the original of this song a long time ago, and it's basically tell my why by supermode. However, this remix is really awesome. Sounds kind Swedish House Mafiaesque.

Pitchdown (Spencer and Hill Remix) by Lowrider, really really interesting track. At first the beginning kind of threw me off and I didn't like it, but I've changed my mind. Something really cool about it.

Get Up (Vocal Mix) by Spencer and Hill, Walking bassssssss line. Funny to see in this collection of all these tracks how Spencer and Hill used to make some more funky disco house like tracks (though Fred Falke would probably be a better description in some ways)

Some Kind of Rush (Spencer and Hill Remix) by Booty Luv, same style as the above track, still great.

So much Love to give (Spencer and Hill Remix) by Dj Tom and Bump N Grind, good ol Spencer and Hill. This is their very typical sound, but gotta love it.

Keep On (Spencer and Hill Remix) By Cezar Cunningham, kind of a progressive feel in an interesting way, even though it's an electro banger.

Think About the Way 2009 (Spencer and Hill Remix) by Gig Barocco and Ice MC, so much fun

Le Knight Club Samples

Great video and a must for any French House fan.

Dusty Kid

The Dusty Kid rules. This kid (he can't be more than 21) from Italy has already risen as one of the top Techno producers right now. Since Minimal is 'so in' right now, then all y'all shall love these jams. He's in the same vain as a Popof or Noob.

-M

Lynchesque (Original Mix) - Dusty Kid

CRAZY fucking bomb. Really easy to mix as well, perfect tool for any Minimal/Tech DJ.

I Want Your Soul (Dusty Kid Sensational Gia Dub Mix) - Armand Van Helden
Really really awesome. Just flawlessly produced. And the Dub mix is much better than the original, in which he's got an a capella from the original Armand that just doesn't need to be there.

Disco Lies (The Dusty Kid's Fears Remix) - Moby

At 3:32, the coolest line comes in. This would drive every person in your rave crowd NUTS.

The Cat - Dusty Kid
His most famous track, really Electro. Everytime, Everyday, Anyway, Acid.

TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE
The Riot - Dusty Kid
First person to figure out which giant Electro act samples this song (to much greater effect in my opinion) and write it in the comments will receive +10 Bastille Love and Admiration Points. Those will really get you far in life, so do your best. And the answer will shock you all, I guarantee it.

Look at All the Pretty Lights

Pretty Lights, who M and J saw at EDC doing his thing this past summer, has released a new album of awesome tracks. His unique blend of soulful samples, electro basses, and huge midtempo beats makes him one of my favorite DJs around right now. And he has all of his music available on the internet for free. So go grab it! And be sure to get "Filling Up the City Skies" while you're there—this guy really makes good stuff.

-P

Flashmob

Yeah, if I was gonna post this album up, I probably should have done it a little closer to release. I don't know, maybe it won't get taken down this way. But in case you missed it, VITALIC RELEASED A NEW ALBUM! I'm not gonna review it myself (though I will say it definitely did not disappoint me, and I've been amped for this shit for a long time). Instead, I will direct you to a review by Ilictronix, which you can see HERE.

Must see this man live before death.

-M

Flashmob - Vitalic

BONUS:
Love Like A Sunset (Shuttle Remix) - Phoenix
Awesome. It's a bit fast for DJing (134), but you can slow it down to 130 and it still sounds pretty fine. Shuttle is a member of Passion Pit, for reference.

For His Majesty Andre

His Majesty Andre
is an Italian House producer that I'm particularly a fan of. He's making great French/Disco House tracks that just scream cool. Actually working on booking him at Wesleyan on Nov 14, and it's looking very good so get pumped. He's worked with The Bloody Beetroots and remixed some big players like autoKratz and Congorock.

-M

In My Eyes (His Majesty Andre Remix) - Burns
His newest track, awesome French/Filter House style. Really great chopping of samples.

I Hold the Crown (His Majesty Andre Gimme Back Da Crown Remix) - Redman
This is just such a cool House groove. It's got fuckin class.

Music Non Stop - His Majesty Andre
This sounds like something that could have been released on Crydamoure or Roulé, especially with that little vinyl scratch taken straight from Spinal Scratch by Thomas Bangalter (grab that track HERE).

Always More (His Majesty Andre Sometimes Rosse Remix) - autoKratz
More Electro than his other tracks, this one sounds like Boys Noize Records style House music, aka Strip Steve-ish.

And, as always...

His Majesty Andre Collection:
By Track // Zipped

Update:
Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to book him as I lack the Pioneer CDJ 1000's and DJM 800 that he want's me to provide for him. Going for Hidden Cat instead (you can check our interview with him HERE)!

The Swedish Stoner Boy

Stonebridge is a Swedish House producer that makes big Prog tracks, like his other Swedish comrades. Not much else to say, if you're a fan of this sort of House music then you'll definitely enjoy these tracks. I do take pride in my Swedish ancestry, at least we're not pretentious like the French. And we furnish every college kid's room!

-M

Black Pony (Stonebridge & Axwell Ecstasy Mix) - Playmaker
Space Disco! I fucking LOVE Space Disco, if I could put a phaser on nature sounds I would in a heartbeat.

Lights Are Low (Stonebridge Re-Edit) - Dumb Dan
Really classic House track complete with Piano stabs and an Electro-ish bass.

Fallin (Stonebridge Club Mix) - Agent X Feat. Mutya
Really really really catchy.

My collection consists of 13 tracks:

Stonebridge Collection (By Track)

Stonebridge Collection (Zipped)

BONUS:

Catgroove - Parov Stelar
Good ol' House with a Swing Jazz sample, like straight out of the roaring twenties. Supermario is gonna love this one.

Every Spencer and Hill Track

Link
Ok, I don't know if it's every single one, but it's a lot of em. It's in a bunch of rars on rapidshare so of course, as always, I recommend, Skip Screen to do the waiting for you. Spencer and Hill are definitely some of the top electro house artists of today. We here at AWB highly recommend getting as much of their stuff as you can. Also you can see our former posts on them here and here.

However, I know most people out there don't really want or need every single song by Spencer and Hill, and really don't want to take the time going through their itunes library looking for doubles. Therefore I will try and get through as many of these as I can and put up another post with maybe my top 6-7 from all of those in that link above.

Bastard Pop!

I had the pleasure of DJing a rooftop party in Brooklyn last night, and although the party was a complete bust due to things like rain, super drunk hipsters, and especially douchey cops that threatened to take away my equipment if I didn't tell them who's party it was, I did meet a bunch of other really cool DJs, including one who works on some of the best Bootlegs that have been coming out recently. His name is Nunzi, and if you've been reading such blogs as ElectroStation or Temple Of House, you've probably already heard some of these. I even heard one of these dropped at Love Festival by none other than D.O.N.S. and it happened to be the highlight of his set (wrote a review of that set HERE). Anyways, enjoy these bootlegs:

-M

Drink N Fuxia (ImanoS & Nunzi Bootleg) - Norman Doray, Albin Myers Vs. Greg Cerrone
This shit would destroy a rave crowd guaranteed. Heavy bass, catchy synth lines, and the vocals work so perfectly. We're of course huge fans of Albin Myers here at AwB.

Can't Get Into The Night (ImanoS, George Monev & Nunzi Bootleg) - Soulsearcher Vs. Young Rebels, Francesco Diaz
More lovely Prog House for your massive rave.

We Are Kidsos (ImanoS Bootleg) - Dirty South Vs. Sebastian Ingrosso
HUGE track, this being the one I heard at Love Festival. Can't stress how well done this one is.

BONUS:

Can't Get High Without U (David Penn Mix) - Joey Negro

This track is what House music is all about. This will be playing on repeat for the next couple of days.

Turn Up the Bass

What a disgusting and disturbing image.

Chuckie is someone who has risen extremely quickly in the house world. He's dutch, and it's very apparent when you listen to his stuff. At the same time he's very similar to Benny Benassi, but only in the sense that alot of the songs have the same sound (or a similar sound). It's pretty noticeable. While I admit he's definitely not anywhere near my favorite dutchmen, he definitely deserves an honorable mention. He made a huge hit with let the bass kick (I do love that song), and that alone makes him deserve this post.

Let the Bass Kick (Original Mix) by Chuckie, we all know and love it, his biggest song by far. The sample comes from a Carl Cox song (I can't remember which one), though Cox probably sampled that from somewhere too.

Aftershock (Can't fight the feeling) (Original Mix) by Chuckie, HELL YES! If you like Gartner, then you'll like this song. Sounds so similar, nothing more needs to be said.

Moombah (Original Mix) by Chuckie and Silvio Ecomo, his second biggest song (as far as my knowledge goes) but if you're going to play this song then go for this instead:

Moombah (Afrojack Remix) by Chuckie and Silvio Ecomo, it should be obvious why I would choose this. Turn up the bass.

Rides (Original Mix) by Chuckie, such a good song. Not like his other stuff but definitely worth getting.

Any Noise (Original Mix) by Chuckie, this is real techy, EXTREMELY different from his other stuff, but I really like the few times when he shows diversity.

Everytime We Touch ( Chuckie 2009 Remix) by David Guetta, the same sound again, but I really like what he's done with this song. Though Everytime we touch is an extremely catchy song, I'll admit to liking it. Great electro bass in this too.

All of this and a bunch more Zipped

Tracks Individually

M's Additions:

Bring The Rock - Chuckie & Silvio Ecomo
Way more Electro than we usually get from him. I like it.

Love You No More (DJ Chuckie Remix) - Bob Sinclar
Very classic Chuckie sound, like J was talking about. J already uploaded this in 192, but mine's 320.

Zipped (5 Tracks)
