16 Bit

16 Bit are the fantastic Dubstep duo responsible for making the most abrasive track every known to man.  I just got a request to do a big post on these guys, and noticed that I only had that one track.  Since then, I've stocked up and I've got to say I'm really impressed.  One of the most diverse Dubstep producer teams out there, they've got tracks ranging from calm to heavy sub to face melting distortion.  Huge win.

-M

Relentless (16 Bit Remix) - Torqux (Golden Banana)
This track is insane.

Skyline - 16 Bit
Super reminiscent of Burial.  Really shows off their skill.

Twice - 16 Bit (Beautiful Banana)
One of the most beautiful Dubstep tracks I've ever heard.

Swine Flu - 16 Bit
Face melter.

Ford Fiesta - 16 Bit
+100 Bastille Love and Admiration Points for whoever knows the Jazz track sampled here.  This is the most amount of points we've ever offered, so go big or go home.

The collection has so many more awesome tracks, including a cover of Britney Spears' Toxic, but I would just be cluttering by posting them up top.

BONUS:
Chainsaw Calligraphy - 16 Bit (Abrasive Banana)

Best Lightshow Ever

As I just posted that Pablo Decoder remix of Welcome, I went looking for the song on youtube to show it to him while on his computer. Instead I found this video of Etienne playing, and it's fucking tight. I never knew about this lightshow, but I can't deny that I would LOVE to see it (even though I hear his actual sets are just ok from M). He could be playin the worst shit ever, and I would just be entranced by the cubes.

-J

Not as good as the pablo decoder but you know:

Welcome (Bloody Beetroots Remix) by Etienne De Crecy, nice to see something good after a long spree of shit.

I'm Back

So I finally got my new computer, and I'm back up and running. Be on the lookout for some hot shit.

Here are two songs to hold you over that my girl got me into:

-J

Welcome (Pablo Decoder Remix) by Etienne de Crecy, INCREDIBLE. I heard this and was just like, BALLIN. If you liked panzershreck, this is for you.

Take My Picture (the Amplid Remix) by Heads We Dance, So catchy, more for those poppy electro kids.

Phonat

I'm definitely late on this post, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.  Phonat rules, and although he had his moment of fame in the blogosphere, he definitely shouldn't be forgotten just as quickly like so many other guys.  His album is a cluterfuck of genres, including Electro, House, Breakbeat, Drum & Bass, and even an incredible Tech House track.  If you missed out on his emergence, you should definitely check him out, and even if you did catch it, I've got his whole album for you.

-M

Set Me Free (Extended Mix) - Phonat
A great House track, this is the one that was blogged like no other.  Fantastic sample, and some Prog elements too.

Learn To Recycle - Phonat (Golden Banana)
This is the track that really shows off his prowess.  He starts at a really slow bpm, speeds it up to a House track, and then ends on DnB.  Don't think I'd ever be able to work this into a set, but it still wows me every time I listen to it.

Phonat - Phonat (REMOVED)
This is the whole album.  Highly recommended.  You can buy it HERE.

BONUS:

Set Me Free (Aviici Remix) - Phonat
Fantastic Prog remix by the best producer of '09.

Set Me Free (Louis La Roche Reconstruction) - Phonat
The French touch by an Englishman.

Adrenalize (Phonat Deconstruction Remix) - Sharooz
Crazy Electro House.

Miles Dyson

Due to a request from Guy, here comes a post that all the Electro House heads should love.  Miles Dyson is a king of Electro House, and I'm sure you've heard of him before if you're reading this.  Banger city.

-M

Outro - Miles Dyson (Golden Banana)
Brilliant sampling.

You Too (Miles Dyson Remix) - Aspin, Dipace, Luvstuff
I recognize that piano, and the bass in this kills.

Live In Mexico (Original Mix) - Miles Dyson
The Carmina Burana, remixed.

Melodik Hypnotik (Miles Dyson Remix) - Elite Force
Another awesome, hardcore track.

I could keep going, but I'll just skip to the collection now:

Love Inside Dahlback

Newish release from AwB favorite John Dahlback with an all star lineup for remixes (the remixes being better than the originals for sure).  Get your Saturday night on.

-M

Love Inside (Extended Mix) - John Dahlback Feat. Andy P
Ironically the shortest of all the tracks.  Electro House.

Love Inside (Classic Mix) - John Dahlback Feat. Andy P
Less Electro, I like this mix better than his other.

Love Inside (Henrik B Remix) - John Dahlback Feat. Andy P (Golden Banana)
Definitely my favorite mix, Tech House.  The last drop is fantastic.

Love Inside (Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Tough Love Remix) - John Dahlback Feat. Andy P
The raviest track of the bunch, sort of Dutch-y with the lead synth.

Love Inside (Albin Myers & Jonas Sellberg Remix) - John Dahlback Feat. Andy P
Big Electro House track, really cool lead synth.

Kolt13 and 2 Zig Zags

Kolt13, hailing from Gaul, just sort of burst onto the scene fairly recently, and has come out with killer production after killer production.  I'm incredibly impressed with the quality and speed that he cranks these suckers out with.  He makes Electro with a sort of 80s feel but not in the dreamy way, these are definitely dance tracks.  He's got a ton of blog support, we'll see if that's enough to break him through.

-M

Hey You (Kolt13 Remix) - Pony Pony Run Run (Golden Banana)
The first drop is so killer, awesome sidehcained arpeggiated gold.

God Knows (Kolt13's Pornostream Remix) - Tigersapien
Cool Electro Breaks track.

Fancy Footwork (KOLT13 Murdaphunk Remix) - Chromeo
I really dig the lead synth and the way he does the drums in this one.

Kolt13 Collection

M's comp update:
So I've got a good amount of water damage, gonna cost $775 to repair.  Thank god for insurance.  And hey, this could mean one of those fancy new macbooks.

New Mason

It's a great day when some new Mason track gets dropped in your inbox.  I'm a huge fan of this duo, and we've posted up their stuff BEFORE.

Oh yeah, and my computer is half working (my battery is fried AND my computer thinks I need to replace every battery I put in, even new ones, but it runs if I'm plugged in).

-M

The Badger - Mason
Funkier than anything I've heard from these guys, complete with cool samples and even some slap bass.

Syncrom - Mason
Big Italo influence in this one.

Syncrom (Refurb) - Mason
More of a fun bonus track than something for DJ sets, sounds super 80s and movie soundtrackish (wailing distorted guitars do that)

Who's that bitch?

Hot damn I'm back kids and this time it gets dirty. My friend the other day asked me to make him a good playlist he could play during sex and to mix it for him. Unfortunately I just don't have time right now to mix it for him, but I'll put up the playlist I made anyways. Obviously there will be disagreements on whether a song is sexy, but always try and remember that some of the harder stuff is needed to just make it raunchy as fuck.
His prerequisites were that he needed a more hardcore song around every 15 min when he would make the girl finish, with his estimated length of time being around 45 minutes (I guess he lasts a while). So i structured it in that way, ranging from the sexy prog, those walking basslines, and just plain crazy stuff, hope you guys enjoy. But just because most guys don't last that long I put the baller songs up top, and the more chill songs near the bottom when you kinda just need to chill.

And you know, if you finish way before the playlist is over (it is an hour long) then just pause and pick up the pace a little later on the night, or even in the morning (one of my personal favorites). Don't feel bad, you're still a G, you just got ass.

Also remember that this playlist doesn't necessarily need to be when shit's going down, sex usually comes after a little whiles with some patience, this could speed it along for you guys who just hate that interim shit.

Many of these songs have already been posted in those "best of" posts, but here is the playlist anyways IN ORDER

-J

P.S. Avicii remix of we are is in the zip, but I don't want it in the playlist.

Tea Leaf Dancers by Flying Lotus, Start it off slow and smooth. Probably the sexiest song on this playlist.

Out There Ft. Basto by John Dahlback, I've raved about this one before. So cheesy, get a good laugh out of it, but the pace is starting to pick up. "I don't know where to go, how to find you, you could be anywhere."

Now it's getting hot and heavy:

Flashback (Goldie Remix) by Calvin Harris, I put this song on and David was just like this need to be on it. "I'm fighting for my life" "This is like all the things you can fit inside a memory". Sounds like sexy, right?  It's gettin rough......

Heartbreaker (Woflgang Gartner Remix) by MSTRKRFT feat. John Legend, Love this song. Has both that sexy element, because John Legend's voice in this is just so sexy and smooth. Then Gartner comes in and bring in that rough dirty shit.

Golden Cage (Fred Falke Remix) by The Whitest Boy Alive, slowin it back down, let's bring in that bassssssssss   llllllliiiiiinnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeee. And if she finished, see this as a victory song.

Make You Mine by Miami Horror, All the worries in your mind let them go and start advancing.

Last bit for the win, Tiffany got me back in this song.
Everybody (Dabruck and Klein Remix) by Rudenko, This song is intense, and yet the vocals are so sexy. Keepin it real. Simplicity works best. This is like sex on the dancefloor in a song.

And for the slow down period of time:

Embrace (Fred Falke and Miami Horror Remix) by PNAU Feat. Ladyhawke, Another Fred Falke and Miami Horror? Well they just know their shit.

Baby (Breakbot Remix) by PNAU, who didn't expect some breakbot. So smooth.

Keep it safe kids, wouldn't want any electro house babies runnin around.

I Love Beer

Except when it gets spilled on your computer while you're DJing at a frat and kills your battery and charger.  Luckily my computer and hard drive are both still intact, but expect a slow down in posts from me in the near future.  I would like to think that J and Jumpman would help pick up the slack and do some posts, but I'm definitely not about to hold my breath, and you shouldn't either.  Anyways, I'll find out tomorrow morning just how bad it is, and with a little luck I might be back up and running in no time.

-M

Release The Beast - Breakwater
This song got sampled in a big way by some big dudes.  It's a really easy one to guess, so only +1 Bastille Love and Admiration Points for the first person to comment the answer, but hey, every point counts, right?  You get to cash them in for awesome arcade prizes on your way out.

BONUS:
Carry Out (Soundpusher & DJ Rock City Remix) - Timbaland
Props to StraightNoChasa for this Electro House track, perfect for club/college crowdeven with it's sort of Prog bass

Undertaker

He's back. But really did he ever leave?
Catch it quick. Before it dissipates.

Paul ANthony & ZXX

Another huge post.  Paul Anthony & ZXX.  They make lots of dope shit, lots of different genres, but mostly Electro House.  Enthusiasm, blah, great for your DJ sets.

-M

Optico (Paul Anthony & ZXX Remix) - Santiago Moreno (Golden Banana)
One of the most awesome Electro House tracks of recent.  Definitely grab this one.

Love Will Find You (Original Mix) - Paul Anthony & ZXX
Big Room remix of a classic 80s track.  Everyone loves these, hell J and I tried to make one.

Day By Day (Vocal Mix) - Paul Anthony & ZXX
Really nice Prog track form them, and pretty recent.

Sex 101 (Original Mix) - Paul Anthony & ZXX
Let's say you go to a liberal arts college.  And then, let's say that this school you go to has something, whatever it's called, that basically is a Sex Party, where everyone goes in very little clothing and is pretty much guaranteed to get some that night.  This song would be perfect.

Special K for Breakfast

No, not the drug (kids you be sure stay away from that stuff), but Adam K, one of the best House producers out there. This dude kills everything he tries, which for the most part is Progressive stuff, but he's got some great Electro and Techno tracks. In all honesty, he's probably the most reliable producer out there for Prog tracks along with, say, Deadmau5 or Kaskade. Lots of his productions are with some dude named Soha, but I feel like he's the driving force behind it since he's also go solo work. This dude is a Golden Banana.

-M

Underlying Feeling (Adam K & Soha Club Mix) - Sylvia Tosun
Brilliant. Just brilliant. One of my favorite Prog tracks, such a beautiful voice and chords.

The Mask (Original Mix) - Adam K, Gabe
Sick ass Techno track, it's got one of the coolest little breaks ever.

Nice Boys (Adam K & Soha Remix) - Aaron Studt
Great Electro House track, fans of older Wolfgang Gartner will like this one a lot. Don't be fooled by the Prog build.

The Good, The Bad & The Funky (Original Mix) - JELO & Adam K
Much dirtier Electro, all about this bass.

We Hold On (Adam K & Soha Remix) - Kaz James
Another great Prog track, with male vocals oddly enough, but it definitely works.

Adam K Collection

BONUS:
Need To Feel Loved (Adam K & Soha Vocal Mix) - Refleckt feat. Delline Bass (Platinum Banana)
I just had to. This is seriously the best Progressive track ever. Couldn't post this enough.

Best Vocal Tracks

What a boss, keep it comin kid. You've got potential, you've got dreams. I'll make it happen. Your boy J here to keep things ridiculous.

So here i am again. WHAT UP PLAYAS. we got some like vocal tracks for you guys. This is like you listen to these vocal and you just gotta like sing along. There ain't no way that this ain't gonna happen. Cheesy and disgusting, you gotta love it. Put on some of these tracks when you're with your lady friend and shit's gonna go down regardless of what she wanted before it came on. Holla.

Ballin as always.

-J

Some Deadmau5 and Kaskade, because he's got killer vocals.

I remember (Vocal Mix) by Deadmau5 and Kaskade, I mean who didn't expect this to be up here.

Move for Me (Extended Mix) by Deadmau5 and Kaskade, Deadmau5 really just gets the most ballin vocals, and it just adds a lot that kaskade's involved. We all know this one.

But this might be my favorite vocal track. So sexy, so fly, keep it chill keep it fresh:

Need to Feel Loved (Adam K and Soha Remix) by Refleckt feat. Delline Bass, never stale.

Now for something completely different:

Grindhouse (Dubfire Terror Planet Remix) by Radio Slave, i mean this isn't a vocal track, but they just fuckin kill it with the mood.

The Past by Vitalic, You know, killin it. Brings back memories.

Pogo by Digitalism, also bringin back some shit.

Nah nah nah, we keep it real.

I will be here (Tiesto Remix) by Tiesto and Sneaky Sound System, Such a cool voice. By now you should know how much I love this song. Definitely has come to beat the Wolfgang Gartner Remix.

Love Can't Get U Wrong Feat. Angie (Dim Chris Terrassa Remix) by Dim Chris, This has been posted so many times. Should know.

Face to Face by Daft Punk, Wouldn't change a thing, it's amazing what you find face to face.

Come Fly Away by Benny Benassi, in my opinion the best vocal on the album, even though M would say My Body.

Sweet Disposition (Axwell and Dirty South Remix) by Temper Traps, I mean the vocals were obviously good in the original, but they do a baller job of addin to it.

Golden Cage (Fred Falke Remix) by The Whitests Boy Alive, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah YEAH

World, Hold On by Bob Sinclar WE ALL KNOW IT.

Zipped.

Other Batch #3

Mongol General: Hao! Dai ye! We won again! This is good, but what is best in life?

Mongol: The open steppe, fleet horse, falcons at your wrist, and the wind in your hair.

Mongol General: Wrong! Conan! What is best in life?

Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

Mongol General: That is good! That is good.

-M

Dissolving Time - H.U.V.A. Network
Amazingly beautiful ambient/electronic track.

See Waves - Nice Nice
(Golden Banana)
This shit is awesome. It's somewhat reminiscent of Yeasayer, and I love those guys. Cool experimental, electronic rock that's totally danceable.

Be Mine - Erik Hassle & Ellie Goulding
This song is just so beautiful. Just vocals and guitar, very rare for this blog. Its really just her voice just is so good on this, like REALLY fucking good.

Dreamin - Gift Of Gab
Great Hip Hop track, this beat is awesome.

The High Road - Broken Bells
Electronic indie music I guess? It's slow tempo, just got a great feel to it.

Headlock (Matamatics Remix) - Imogen Heap
Could be mixed into a Dubstep set I geuss, but it's not really Dubstep, it's just at the same tempo. Very pretty track.

Rico's Groove - Electric Sea Spider
Awesome Experimental Hip Hop stuff here, electronic/sample based.

The King And All Of His Men (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Remix) - Wolf Gang
Very nice Synth Pop.

Contact - Foreign Beggars & Noisia
Hip Hop with a distorted ass Electro bass.

It's All Relative (Family First) - Black Element
Another awesome Hip Hop track with a fantastic beat.

02 February 2010

Serious Golden Banana-age

I really do got two tracks for you that are both delicious, shiny ass Golden Bananas, like the two above. I know, Danl, THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE GOLDEN BANANA. Perhaps these two tracks will come to discover that they are in fact the descendants of an immortal race and meet at "The Gathering" in the 80's in New York and attempt to cut off the head of the other with their awesome antique swords in order to win "The Prize," but only time shall tell. Feel free to comment on which track you think deserves it.

-M

Glow (Original Mix) - Cirez D (Golden Banana)
Wow. Serious Techno track. This will be a rave anthem for sure.

On Off (Sebastien Leger Remix) - Cirez D (Golden Banana)
Yup, I found it. And now I give it to you.

The MasqueRave

So, this weekend J came to visit me at school and we threw a little shindig. Posts will start up again soon enough, but until then, peep this video of me doing a stage dive while J played his mashup of You Spin Me Right Round and La Rock.

-M

BONUS:
Chimera (Intro Edit) - Ashley Wallbridge
(Golden Banana)
I couldn't leave you with nothing. This one's been on repeat for a while, perfect way to start a Prog set. And it even has an Electro-ish bass. Huge win.
