-M

Renegade Master (Original Mix) - Markus Binapfl aka BIG WORLD (GOLDEN BANANA)
Tech House on the extremely Funky side with the sample you all know and love.

Virtual Friend (BT Remix) - Armin Van Buuren Feat. Sophie (Silver Banana)
Yes, it's Trance and it's cheesy, but this remix is incredible.  Fans of Complextro will love this.

Feelings Are Weapons That Can Kill feat Lisa Jane (Lutzenkirchen Remix) - Kevlar (Silver Banana)
Tech House on the Tribal side, EVERYONE needs more of this in their lives.  Really haunting vocals too.

Blow Out (Original Mix) - Felguk
There was a ton of hype on this track, but it wasn't really my thing.  Maybe I'm just missing it, or I need to hear it live.  Thoughts?  I normally love the shit out of Felguk too.

I Can Be A Freak - Religion
I actually met these guys randomly a week ago.  This here's a heavy ass Electro track.

United Kingdom - Benga
Yup.  Dubstep.  And Benga, we get it, you're British.  Woo ha.

Unleash The Fuckin' Dada (Dirtyloud Remix) - Dada Life
The other Brazilian Electro House giant.

Get Out (Original Mix) - Lazy Rich & Lizzie Curious
Typical Lazy Rich, Electro House.  It seems like he's trying to make Boom again, but he didn't quite hit the mark this time.

Menace - NumberNin6
Dubstep on the abrasive side.

Do It In The AM ft. Far East Movement (Lucky Date & Eli Smith Remix) - Frankmusik
Lucky Date sounding like Lucky Date, Eli Smith adding his name for some reason.  Oh label bosses.  Electro House.

Hands in the Air business

Ahh progressive trance, God DJs, neverending larger than life supersaw breakdowns, can be remembered as one of the number one rave recruiting genres of the late 90s, stereotypically dutch, unlike prog house it doesn't try to keep its cool so to say, its just full on scream it loud epic, these are OLD tunes, but tunes never the less. ENjoy!

Star Way (Venus Mix) - Moonbeam feat. Avis Vox (Golden Banana)
I just have a super big hard on for Moonbeam, what of it.  Progressive House/Techno/Trance, not really sure.

Budgie (Original Club Mix) - Funkagenda (Silver Banana)
One of the better Tech House producers out there.  Enjoy.

Bass Cannon (Original Mix) - Flux Pavilion (Silver Banana)
Final version?  Maybe...

Last Night (Afrojack Remix) - Ian Carey feat. Bobby Anthony & Snoop Dogg
Poppy Dutch/Electro House.  The first drop is actually killer.  I also like how Ian Carey is trying to be like Guetta, you'll hear it.

E.T (Futuristic Lover) (Tiesto Remix) - Katy Perry
Howboutsom Progressive House with lyrics your crowd can sing along to?

Don't Fear To Rock (Original Mix) - Lutzenkirchen
Driving Techno.

Please Don't Go (Dave Edwards Remix) - Mike Posner
Poppy but heavy Electro House.

Where Will You Go (Jesse Voorn Remix) - Phil Fuldner
Tech House on the Techy side.

Dada Ft. Leh-Lo (Dub Mix) - Soha
Some relaxed, beautiful Progressive House.  For listening or massive raves.

Pumping (Original Mix) - DJ Wady
Tech House on the Tribal side.

Breathless - Moonbeam (GOLDEN BANANA)
I love Moonbeam with a passion, any regular reader probably knows this.  It's where Techno meets Trance, and it's glorious.

Sunlight (Armand Van Helden Remix) - Bag Raiders (Silver Banana)
Feel good house music.  Crank the summer jams for Winter?

Autonomy (Original Mix) - Zedd
The chords in this track are absolutely incredible.  I wonder if they are sampled, but his solo over them lets me know that he at least understands them.  Electro House.

Stoli (Original Version) - Djuma Soundsystem & One Brother
Very relaxed, dark Progressive House.  Beautiful, but could only work at a Massive.

Going Back (Les Patrons Remix) - Bee4
Tech House, feels a lot like Deep House.

The 1st (Far Too Loud Re-fix) - X-Dream
These guys are one of my favorite recent discoveries that make BANGING Electro House.  This track is Breakbeat though.  They know the way to my heart for sure.

Tunnel Vision - Orbital
Speaking of breakbeat, here's some old school for you.  Not THAT old school, this is from 2004, just a mere 2 years before Justice hit the scene.

Tormenta Electronica (Original Mix) - Koen Groeneveld
Tech House, HUGH kick.  Also some 8bity sounds.

Cool (Original Mix) - Paul Thomas & Da Fresh
Progressive House on the major Tech side.  Also a sampled I've heard used several times already.

Feel Good - Modestep
I really like this sample.  Dubstep.

82nd Airborne (Original Mix) - Daniel Portman, Stanley Ross (Golden Banana)
Daniel Portman is just one of these wonder producers that falls somewhere between Tech, Prog, and Trance.  Hard to classify, but definitely not hard to listen to.  Impeccable production.

Hysteresis (Original Mix) - Sharooz (Silver Banana)
Awesome Electro House with that driving feel of the new Acid tracks coming out (not BNR, more like Pacha On Acid).

Gave Me Love (David Jones Mix) - The Cube Guys, David Jones (Silver Banana)
Hau5 music for life.  Got that classic Disco feel, love it.  Found this on Avicii's Beatport chart.

Sucker Punch - Gtronic
Awesome driving Electro track.  Heavy and danceable.

Beat Me Back (Original Mix) - Supernova
EDIT* this track is a rip off of Kevin Saunderson without permission

Valhalla - SPL & Triage
Heavy ass Dubstep that's either sampling or heavily inspired by Hard Trance, and I have a big soft spot for Hard Trance.  If you do too, click HERE.

Windows (Oliver Twizt Remix) - Sil
Erie Tech House with a Dutch feel, this would definitely kill at a rave.

Hamlet (No Body's Just Brain Edit) - Stedd & Numca
Super Big Room Progressive House.  Really catchy and danceable, this could actually work for a college crowd, just throw a Will.I.Am. acapella over it.

Sabotage (Original Mix) - Jason Taylor
Tech House, more like it's genre than the other Tech House tracks above.  Great rolling bass, I don't know how else to describe those Tech basses that just sort of pitch bend all around rather than play a line per se.

I Am The Beat feat. Louisahhh!!! (Treasure Fingers Remix) - Senor Stereo
And some classic feeling House to end.

Obscure Video Game Character #8

And it's back.  Name this evil ass sucker and you'll receive +500 Bastille Love and Admiration Points.  I'll award 150 points if you can only name the game.  Lessgo.

-M

Get On The Move (Original Mix) - Bingo Players (Golden Banana)
Hell yes.  And I quote my friend (he's not the biggest fan of Tech House)
"I didn't know a calm banger was possible"

Fountain Of Youth (Louis La Roche 'In The Discoteque' Remix) - Boy Crisis
Everyone's favorite French House revival producer is back.

Shake Shake (Original Mix) - S.co
It's kinda like Big Room Disco/Electro/Prog House.  What up Los Angeles.  This dude runs a sick blog worth checking out called 310Electro.

Transformers (Ooga Booga Remix) - Futurecop!
Starts Synth Poppy, then drops super hard with heavy Electro.  Great way to pick up energy in a set.

Generate Some Heat (Original Mix) - Foamo
Glad to see his back.  Some Fidget/Disco greatness.

Face Pump (Blende Remix) - JFK, St. Mandrew
Electro for you kids out there.

Close To The Stars (Jerome Isma-Ae Dub Mix) - Fabio XB feat Yves de Lacroix
Prog House or Trance?  It's pretty up for debate.  All I know is that this dude always puts out top notch production.

Road To Perdition (Original Mix) - Dinka
And some super smooth Progressive House to end.  The kind to sleep to, not to play live.

Chew Your Face Off

Everyone hates on Trance.  And rightfully so.  It does suck.  That said, it's also quite awesome.  If you're gonna be a DJ, you should appreciate the other stuff that's out there, as well as the shit that's come before.  This post is dedicated to some Old School Trance, and not that pretty shit, but the kind that made kids everywhere grind their teeth together until they went home and had to explain to their parents why they were missing a tooth.

-M

Shutterspeed - Pavo & Zany
Hardstyle.  So intense.  Fuck.

Blood Is Pumping (Club Mix) - Voodoo & Serano
Sorry for the shitty quality, but this is such a classic.  Makes me think of vampires.

The Vulcan - Commander Tom
Some REALLY old school shit, all the way back to 1994.

(X-Ray) Follow Me (Live Version) - Space Frog
If you can get over the cheese factor, its pretty awesome.

King Of The Beats - Mindcontroller
More Hardstyle.  I feel like I'm marching towards the apocalypse.

Big Fat Bass - Pavo & Zany
Yeah, I definitely laugh too when I listen to this.

(X-Ray) Follow Me (Vocal Version) - Space Frog
It's impossible to get over the cheese on this one.

High Voltage - High Voltage
AC/DC already happened

BONUS:
Ayla 2010 (Jerome Isma-Ae v2) - Ayla
Some modern Trance, but this is the pretty shit not the grind your teeth shit.  More the put your arms in the air and sway.

Film Majors

You know who you are.  Don't pretend like you're making any contributions at all and good luck trying to say anything that hasn't already been said a million times already.

Now House music, that's an original medium.  Especially Progressive House, totally not the same bitch with a thousand faces.  Here are some Prog House tunes that sound like nothing you've never heard before.  Promise.

-M

To start, let's do this incredible EP:

In The Red Light (Original Mix) - CJ Stone And Chriss Ortega Feat Lyck (Golden Banana)
Wow.  Unbelievable.  The drop is just incredible, what a fucking sound they made.  Also the vocal chopping, simple but perfect.

In The Red Light (Stone And Ortega Club Mix) - CJ Stone And Chriss Ortega Feat Lyck
Techy remix while keeping the super cheesy Prog buildup.

In The Red Light (Red Light Mix) - CJ Stone And Chriss Ortega Feat Lyck
More traditional Prog sound, very much like an EDX song.

Now for some more totally unique and original Prog songs:

Major Tom (Coming Home) (Adam K & Soha Club Edit) - Shiny Toy Guns (GOLDEN BANANA)
This has become one of my absolutely favorite remixes from this already very established team.  On loop for weeks.  Oddly fast tempo, does that make this Trance...?  Regardless, it's hard to get more beautiful than this track.

My Belief (Jean Elan Remix) - Syke N Sugarstarr & DBN Feat Cosmo Klein
Really sick bass and drums on this one, sort of Able Ramos like but more interesting.  Hate the vocals though, but what can you do.  I just thank God that this is the only Prog song with terrible vocals.

Sometimes (Johan Wedel Remix) - Dim Chris, Amanda Wilson
I just hear this one exploding on a massive sound system, this bass is meant to be felt just as much as it's meant to be heard.  In other words, MASSIVE TUNE.

Shine A Light (David Tort Remix) - Kurd Maverick
More on the Techy side, a lot like Swedish Tech Prog.  The most Proggy track from David Tort I've heard actually.  And the chords, so original!  Never heard these changes before, it's incredible.

Some People Will Never Learn (Original Mix) - Dinka
A track from the hero of Swehouse.  This is one of those Prog tracks that takes me to my mental beach place.  I'm surfing, gliding my fingertips along the face of the wave.  A bombshell in a red bikini smiles at me as a gentle breeze rustles her golden hair.  She climbs onto my board and we ride tandem into the eternal sunset.  There are hi fives and thumbs ups all around.  It's pretty fuckin sick, you should totally check it out sometime.

Pregame!

I like to party.  I like to dance.  And I love to get down to some good tunes.  There is no better way to do all this, however, than with the bros.  I mean, look at these guys.  Each one brings something to the group, as they make especially clear in this picture.  The one on the left brings the humor, then the next one's reppin' (lamest bro, but someone's gotta be it, right?), 3rd bro brings the party, last dude is the rock, like the guy who's super chill but could totally kick your ass at any minute and can drink your ass under the table so hard you'll be fisting a toilet with your face while he's layin down game on your girl.  So here are some great Progressive jams that are guaranteed to get your bros going.  That 30 rack of Keystone Ice won't shotgun itself.

-M

Some Chords (Original Mix) - Deadmau5
Massive tune.  Also, this is Electro House and the only one in this post, but this needed to be posted.

Sometimes (Daddy's Groove Rework)  - Dim Chris feat. Amanda Wilson (Golden Banana)
I seriously think that these guys should be ruling the Progressive scene.  They have a somewhat Swedish sort of sound, but it's just more innovative.

Hoover (Adam K Remix) - EDX
This shit hits so hard, it's like playing slap shots.

Salvation (Jerome Isma-Ae & Daniel Portman Remix) - Chris Reece
Great rave tune, super pretty and hits incredibly hard as well.  While the chord changes might be a bit too familiar, it works.

Fantasy (EDX Remix) - Nadia Ali
Wow.  J is gonna be ALL up in this one.  He sent me a cute bromantic text last night.

Fantasy (Starkillers Remix) - Nadia Ali
Not as good as the above mix, but still quite good.  Is this Progressive House, or is it Trance?

Nyce (Original Mix) - Moguai
Some great shit coming from Mau5trap.

Nothing Is Wrong (Original Mix) - Adam K & Soha
And why not end it with a classic winning combo.  They really do make the best chords.

Also, have you guys SEEN the lineup for EDC this year?  It's just way too good.  Great place to roll deep with your bros and do some serious fist pumping.

Trance Batch #1

This batch is tiny for pretty obvious reasons. Still enjoyed these songs a lot.

-M

Why You Hurt Me (Club Mix) - D'Azoo At Night
Really pretty track, just sounds like one of his Prog tracks sped up.

Point Therapy (Original Mix) - Didrapest (Golden Banana)
Psytrance. YES! Really excellent vocal chopping in this one part.

Rose of Jericho (BT's Deus Ex Machina Album Mix) - BT
More prettiness, I guess that's what Trance is after all.

Silverback (Original Mix) - M6
Slow Trance, but I still feel like it fits the genre.

Some of the simpler things:

Don't you just wish you could wake up to this every morning. hahaha. My God I have found the funniest and yet best song ever. It's Hilarious:

-J

Brain Box (Marlo Remix) by Ferry Corsten, Golden Banana winner. Hands down. You'll understand when you listen to it. You just have to appreciate this.

Life (Patrick Plaice Remix) by Ferry Corsten, Silver Banana winner. Very cool. The first drop is cool, but I gotta say I really love the second one.

Hate Myself (Sasha Remix) by Pole Folder, Fantastic, really amazing. A master at work.

Everywhere by John Dahlback, More minimal then he has recently been, but still amazing. Fantastic job. He is just on a rampage but I guess he has been for quite some time.

I'm also gonna add two let's get bleeped remixes that we missed in our other post:

Let's get bleeped tonight (Don Rimini Remix) by Dada Life, great more electro take on it. really like this one.

Let's get bleeped Tonight (Mustard Pimp Remix) by Dada Life, also very good more electro take on the song, don't miss either one.

and just to add one more electro song in the mix:

Cops (IllStM & Zal Remix) by Mightfools, kiiiiiiillllliiinnn it

Das Germans!

When I think of Electro House, I usually think of Germany. This country just cranks em out like an assembly line. Hell, just search German in the little search bar over to the right and you'll see a good chunk of your favorite Electro House names pop up left and right. One of mine is named D'Azoo At Night, who hasn't really been featured on this blog yet, so...

D'Azoo At Night! He's German! And he makes awesome Electro House, with some Prog tracks and some that are just pure Trance. His tracks for the most part are on the darker side, compared to fellow Germans like Klaas or PH Electro. Enjoy:

-M

Tango In Tokyo (Extended Mix) - D'Azoo At Night
Such a great sample. MASSIVE TRACK ALERT.

Day And Night (Original Mix) - D'Azoo At Night
Really really really big room Progressive track. I can just imagine the sub bass on this exploding at a massive.

Bodyrock (Original Mix) - D'Azoo At Night
Drops so hard.

Why You Hurt Me (Club Mix) - D'Azoo Night
This one's Trance. It's basically like his Prog song but sped up with a super spacey/epic breakdown/buildup.

D'Azoo At Night Collection
By Track // Zipped

BONUS:
Zeggie - Afrojack
+10 Bastille Love and Admiration Points for whoever catches the reference he makes at the very end of the track.

Early Decision Xtreme (EDX)

So, it's been way too long since I posted, but last night I decided I really needed to, so I uploaded all the music, unfortunately however that's quite a task at this school and the estimated time was 3 hours, so I went to bed. After being woken up at 8 by a fire drill, and having to get up at 9 30 for class, I decided to be a sport and actually finish the post now that all the shit's been uploaded.

That up there is an EDX Spectrum, but I'm talking about the artist EDX. I was looking for his bio around the internet, but you know shit happens, and I didn't find it. What I do know is that I basically like every single one of what Danl would call these trance tracks. Has a very Deadmau5 sound to him as well, but more on the progressive side of the mau5. But this is prog house with those tech rolls. Unfortunately there are a lot more EDX tracks out there that I will get at some point but havn't gotten yet, so expect a part 2 at some point. All in 320 though.

Love,
J

Radioman (EDX's 5un5hine remix) by Afrojack
, really enjoy this one, especially when the Benny Benassi sounding synth comes in for a little bit to add some flavor. Really impressive drop for what it is too.

Hip (Original Mix) by Daniel Portman & EDX, so cool. so hip?

Roadkill (EDX's Acapulco at Night Remix) by Dubfire, yay Dubfire. EDX remixing the master of tech, it's great.

in too deep (EDX Pinkstar Remix) by Robbie Rivera I like the vocals on this track, and I might like this remix better then the original.

Arguru (EDX's 5un5hine remix) by Deadmau5
, not my favorite of EDX's but I'll take it, still enjoyable.

Times Like These (EDX Rerub) by Albin Myers, I might like this better then the original, but I never really liked the idea of the original foo fighters song being turned into a house anthem.

Say Yeah (EDX's Ibiza sunrise Remix) by Yves Larock

Shy Shy (Club Mix) by EDX

Shy Shy (Extended Vocal Mix) by EDX, I don't like the vocals... Kinda reminds me of Funkerman vocals

Rubin (Main Mix) by EDX

Casa Grande (Original Mix) by EDX, This should not be so low down, it's pretty cool.

Premiumline (Original Mix) by EDX

M's additions:

Behind (EDX Remix) - ATB Pres. Flanders

The Take (EDX's Acapulco At Night Remix) - Paul Harris & Obernik

The Hardstyle Nation!

Ok, so there's this genre called Hardstyle, which is basically really really hard Trance. We don't ever really post any type of Trance on this blog, so this is a rare chance to get your Trance fix. Enjoy these awesome tracks from 2003, regardless if you're laughing at em or moshing.

-M

Hardstyle Nation (Blutonium Boy Hardstyle Mix) - Blutonium Boy vs DJ Neo

The more Hardcore track of the two, and the more famous one. You might recognize this from somewhere, I certainly did. It was probably in some action movie.

Hardstyle Nation (DJ Neo Progressive Mix) - Blutonium Boy vs DJ Neo

My personal favorite of the two. The super awesome trance lead WILL get stuck in your head. Man this track rules.

Why Gartner is Critical To Your Business

Gartner does Prog? But I mean it is a remix of Tiesto so it kinda makes sense I guess. I will also take this time to say sorry for not posting for so long, I'm up in the mountains on a family vacation and the internet here sucks, so I can't upload anything without it taking like days. I'll post tomorrow when I get back home. But until then, this can't be overlooked.

While Gartner is obviously the clear winner, I do very much enjoy the Benassi remix (It's him doing what he always does, but he just does it so well). Surprisingly the Tiesto Remix beat the Laidback Luke Remix in my opinion, funny; too bad Laidback's kinda going downhill.

Wanna get all these remixes? I'm sure you do. Well stop on down at Temple of House's post as he's already been kind enough to post all of them, not to mention in 320!

-J

P.S. I will start off by saying that I have nothing against Swehouse as a blog, in fact they're one of my favorites and I thank them for introducing me to House in some sense and more specifically introducing M to Gartner, but I think we should get some credit for something, or M should to be more specific. Swehouse also posted the Gartner and Laidback Luke, and in their titled called Gartner "our savior". I feel as though we pioneered such thinking here, here, sort of here, here, and of course here. However, maybe M read this somewhere and hasn't realized that in fact someone else pioneered such thinking about this awesome man, who I've heard is related to Jesus...BUT, it's just a rumor.

Daft Punk Likes Trance?

A while ago while reading the DJ Mag top 100 poll, I noticed that they had quoted Daft Punk as saying that These Shoulders by Signalrunners Featuring Julie Thompson (Anjunabeats) was their favorite track of 2008. I don't know if you happened to be familiar with Anjunabeats, but that's the label owned by Trance gods Above & Beyond, so it came as quite a shock that our French heroes would name a Trance track as the best of the year. I had downloaded the track, forgotten about it, and everything related to it until recently when I stumbled upon it again. I went to go check out the DJ Mag's website again and also noticed that they listed Daft Punk's style as "Progressive electro-edged trance," and knew that this must be a mistake. Turns out Lange, who was voted one higher than them (Blasphemy!), had the same description and favorite track. Well, having listened to the track, I think its good enough to share, since its actually got an awesome electro.

-M

These Shoulders (Paul Wicked Remix) -
Signalrunners Featuring Julie Thompson
This remix was on the CD, and its better than the original. Paul Wicked does a great job of taking this pretty trancey song and working towards making it more Electro House. I'll have to look into him more.

These Shoulders (Original Mix) - Signalrunners Featuring Julie Thompson

Pass Around That J Pop

By now I know you guys are familiar with Ayumi Hamasaki, J Pop sensation. Here's her most recent remix album, and I know you've got a few of the tracks on here but there are other remixers that you're going to want, including Armand Van Helden. The remixes cross tons of genres too, and the copies are at 256 kbps and I'm pretty sure are equal to or better quality than the ones you've already got. Anyways, enjoy, I'm about to look for its silver sister CD which has got a High Contrast remix.

Ayu-mi-x 6: GOLD - Ayumi Hamasaki
The Para One Remix has become my favorite, even over the MSTRKRFT one.

Found it:
Ayu-mi-x: SILVER - Ayumi Hamasaki
This one is more pop.

P.S. I couldn't include the album art in the zip because it made the file 100.1 MB and thus too big for mediafire, so just grab it from this post.

P.P.S. They took down the U2 remix post and sent me a very stern email about it. So if you happened to miss any tracks on that post that you wanted, let me know and I'll send you the links, or just go here for some of them. Why did they take ours away but not his...

BONUS:
Laser Laser (Nightbreaker Remix) - Neo Tokyo (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
This track is AWESOME. Very happy to see that good electro is still being made. Can't wait for the 320.
