One Night Love Affair (Preview)

Yes, I know it's quite shocking that there is a post on this blog.  But don't get too excited, because it's just self-promotion.  Once I find myself in a place when I'm ready to download torrents of music and actually go through it, this blog will be revived.  Until then, here's a sample from our new EP:

Bastille Updates

Hello loves readers.  Here's a brief update on Bastille status.

Bumpin EP is still getting blog coverage.  In fact, it can use YOUR help.  Please click HERE, and give Bumpin a heart on hypem.  Right now we're fluxuating between 21-40 on the popular list.  If we can get to 20 and thus to the front page, that would be awesome.  We haven't been there since our Cold As Ice remix from 2009.  CLICK HERE GIVE US YOUR HEART!

Our first draft of a remix for our next EP came in and it sounds fucking fantastic.  STereochan turned our Dutch track into a Trash Electro banger, kinda Congorocky.  Excited to here more remixes as they come.

And finally, to explain the picture, we wanted to play Radio by Duck Sauce so badly, that we just decided to make an edit of it.  Our goal is to have it released by the end of the weekend, so pay attention.

Cheers,
-M

Mi Excuses

So we've been extremely busy promoting our new EP and cooking up some new tracks as well.  We actually just finished up a Dutch House track and sent it out for remixes (in fact, if you're interested in remixing Bastille, shoot us an email at wearebastille@gmail.com).  We've also just started a new pop remix, but we'll make you wait to hear what it is.  All this excitement has left no energy for blogging, or even listening to music.  I'll be back eventually, and I'll lose most of my readers, but some of you will stay.  I think that's pretty f-ing cool.

Keep On Bumpin

One of the songs on this son-bitch has been over 2 years in the making.  After hours of toil, we are extremely proud to release our newest EP.  We are fed up with the lack of class among the world, so we shall fill this heinous gap one Disco House track at a time.  Hope you have as much fun dancing to it as we had making the album art.  God bless Piracy.

Lucky EP Out Now

Our bestest buddies that go by the name of gLAdiator just released their debut EP on Noise Porn Records, featuring a remix from Bastille!  Who the fuck are Bastille?  I don't know, but they sound awesome, and they had that one killer Cold As Ice Remix from way back, remember?  Or what about that delicious B More edit of Modjo's Lady that gLAdiator put out? Anyways, you should check out the EP on Beatport.  It's pretty killer, and its also the Beatport debut for both gLAdiator and Bastille.  Support the little guy while we keep screwing the bigger ones together.  Who doesn't want to be Robin Hood?

Gennaro Gattuso

I've got to say, I'm very disappointed in Milan after their performance against Tottenham.  Being big fans of both clubs, I couldn't believe how cuntish Milan behaved.  Tsk Tsk.

-M

Control Room (Original Club Mix) - Fedde Le Grand (Golden Banana)
Tech House banger.  Definitely dropping this next gig without question.

How Soon Is Control Room (Bastille Bootleg) - Fedde Le Grand vs. Guetta, Ingrosso, Dirty South vs. Avicii
Actually, I'll probably drop my own bootleg of it.  Hope all you readers enjoy it.

Lights (Bassnectar Remix) - Ellie Goulding (Golden Banana)
Epic Dubstep chune right here.  Her voice makes me fall in love every time I hear it.

Melocoton (Original Mix) - Alex Kenji & Bass Kleph (Silver Banana)
This collaboration makes so much sense.  Nice Tech Hous, not the dark kind.

Through The Prism (Dada Life Remix) - Designer Drugs
Great Electro House in that Dada style we all love.

Voodoo (Original Mix) - Austin Leeds
Driving Progressive House.

Moanin (Original Mix) - Apster feat. Bizzey
Dutch House

Self Control (Thomas Gold Dub Mix) - Dim Chris, Thomas Gold
More Progressive House, definitely on the Housey side.

Why Won't You Make Up Your Mind? (Erol Alkan Rework) - Tame Impala
Electro I guess?  Just more Indie-ish, definitely melodic and catchy.  Erol always delivers.

Neck Snappah - Caspa
Buhwuhwuhwuhwuhwuhwuhwuhwuh

Nights Eyes - Exhale EP

Just got the go ahead from Night Eyes to post up their EP.  If you're unfamiliar with Night Eyes, they make haunting Electro that's both dancey and appealing to a broader audience than just the typical e-tarded dance community.  This is everything that I wish Witch House was (sorry Jumpman).  They also used to be called Sssen, and we interviewed them.  Check that out HERE.

I'm a huge fan and supporter of these guys, and really hope they can break through in this unforgiving world of egotistical bloggers on power trips that usually ignore pleads of recognition through emails and track submissions (I'm absolutely guilty of it too, it's difficult to have a heart in the face of an overflowing inbox).

Also, how bout that Wikileaks shit.  Crazy.

-M

Exhale EP - Night Eyes
Really fucking awesome.  This is a link to their bandcamp, so you can stream the tracks and download them.

Viscera (Single) - Night Eyes
Looks like they've put out a new single since the EP, so I thought I'd include that.

And in case you missed it:
Stray Light (Bastille Remix) - Night Eyes - Free Download by Bastille

Our own remix of one of the tracks from the EP.  It's gotten the best response of any track yet, with support from The Disco Villains, Human Life, and Lucky Date.  And if you've heard it already, now you can hear the original.

Be excellent to each other!

New Bastille Remix

If you've been reading us for a bit, you might remember our interview with Sssen we did a few months back.  Anyways, they've since changed their name to Night Eyes, and we've remixed one of their tracks, which I'm gonna post up here for you.  Hopefully they'll let me put their EP up soon (it's sick as hell), but they're making me wait for a music video to go with it.  Anyways, until then, you can check out our remix.

Stray Light (Bastille Remix) - Night Eyes - Free Download by Bastille

Also, anyone who's in the Massachusetts area should come out to FLUX tonight, I'll be headlining and definitely dropping some new tracks, like this one.

Obscure Video Game Character #6

OK gamers, I've got a super tough one for you this time.  You of course can be lame and click on the picture to find out the name of the game, but what's the fun in that?  First to name the name of both the game and character will receive a whopping +1,000 Bastille Love and Admiration points.  Who's up for it?

-M

Blitz (Original Mix) - Digitalism (Golden Banana)
Yes new Digitalism.  Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.

Tell Me (John Dahlback Quiet Remix) - Tony Gomez (Silver Banana)
Some Electro House from one of the best.  It's got a riddim beat too.

Overture: The Last Robobot - Pance Party & Valerna
GREAT track, really impressive production and ideas.  Electro.

Grind - Will Bailey
This is his attempt to make Brap.

Dominion (Original Mix) - ThreeSixty
I AM LORD TECHNO

Lnneberga (Original Mix) - Albin Myers feat. Dabruck & Klein
Big Room Electro House from some big ass names.

Hardtack - Pance Party & Valerna
Heavy Square synths on this Elector banger.

Sparc (Original Mix) - ThreeSixty, Jay Ferro
More Techno too finish off.

Also, I'd like to give a big thanks to DAFTWHO? for posting our Dusk Winterman EP (check out the post HERE).  I guess the EP was a little too heavy for the other blogs, but he along with his readers plan on going deaf before 40 and proudly.  We salute you.

Obscure Video Game Character #5

I feel like this one might be kinda easy, because he's so unforgettable in his role.  +200 Bastille Love and Admiration points for whoever names this creepy fella in the comments.  And please don't submit your answer as anonymous, It's hard to Love and Admire you, I might just have him do it instead.  Maybe this dude could find the other writers for this blog, I'd very much like to know where they are.

-M

Unleash The F**king Dada (Original Mix) - Dada Life (GOLDEN BANANA)
They are fantastic, and have been.  I'm glad that they decided to stray away from the pitch bend / hoover sound, because this is purely massive and incredible.

GoGo Girl (Dirtyloud Remix) - Spencer & Hill
Another fantastic Electro House bomb.  BRASSSSSSSIL!  GOLAAAAAAASOOOOOOO!

Dissolve (Bloody Beetroots Remix) - The Chemical Brothers
Looks like they can actually still put out a good track.  Still not QUITE the excellence they were, but great track by all means.

What's Up (Original Mix) - Alex Kenji, Thomas Gold
Tech House in all it's glory.  This is for the ravers, and god this track would kill at one.

Sunbeam (Original Mix) - Spencer & Hill
Electro House from Das Germans.

Regurgitate - Statelapse
Face melting Dubstep.

Teardrop (Knight Riderz Remix) - Massive Attack
I'm really impressed with this one, good Dubstep remix of a classic.  Tempo is very fast, so its hard to mix.

Body Crash (Original Mix) - Buy Now (Silver Banana)
Who remembers this one?  And if you don't, that means you need to download it now.

In Other News...

We just completed a remix for our friends gLAdiator.  It will be part of Lucky EP soon to be released on Noiseporn Records.  I'd love to hear your feedback, since I can't get much from my friends who all hate this gay euro shit we listen to:

Dusk Winterman EP

Artwork by Vasya Kolotusha
http://redinkonpaper.blogspot.com/

Dusk Winterman is a legendary off road racer who's never lost a race ever. He only races off road. He currently drives a Jeep which he won from an African tribe by beating their best racer. That's how you know its a damn good car.

Aside from racing Dusk does two things (though they are related to racing): face wines and gets blow jobs in neutral.

Before every race Dusk face wines: the act of having box wine poured down into your mouth from a distance, ideally a balcony. This makes sure that he's at the perfect level of greatness before he begins his great race.

During the race he's just so far ahead that he just picks up some bitty, throws the car into neutral, and gets a blow job. Not only does he still win the race, but he crosses the finish line in neutral.

He is an idol to everybody who has met him, and only races off road.

Dusk Winterman, with his great stash of powers, also has a sidekick Liquid Sparks: a man who goes so fast that the sparks from his tires turn to liquid. Watch out for Liquid Sparks EP coming soon.

We are extremely proud to present you with our brand new EP:

Dusk Winterman EP - Bastille

P.S.
Half of Bastille (The M one that does all the posts), will be playing at a Lesbian club in North Hampton called Divas.  If you're in the area, it's gonna be a party.  And guys don't worry, it's very well attended by Smith girls, and enough of them will jump on you.  Check the Facebook event HERE.

Brap

So we've been pretty absent, and I apologize.  However, we've been busy in the studio and should be releasing some stuff very soon, including a brand new vocal Prog track.  But for my apology, I'll give you a pretty new banger, but you probably have already heard this one.

Brap - Bart B More

P.S. Next post will be an interview

EEDEESEE

I feel like I either defeat EDC, or am defeated by it.  This year was probably the latter.  Not that it wasn't awesome, just damn was it a night.  Here's our review for the 2010 Electric Daisy Carnival.

-M

BEST

Wolfgang Gartner

I mean, he's the second fucking coming of christ.  And he played Yin.  Also heard what most certainly were unreleased tracks that sounded sick as fuck.  Man's really the best.

Boys Noize

This will be the 4th time I've seen this dude.  Hopefully you've all already had the pleasure as well.  His stage presence is always top notch.  But if that's not enough, check out the first 3 songs in his setlist:

Kontact Me (Rynecologist Turbine Remix) - Boys Noize
Lyposuct (Original) - D.I.M. & TAI
Yeah, Techno! (Soulwax Mix) - Paul Chambers

Felix Cartal

J liked his set more than Boys Noize, and it was definitely a competitor.  Boys Noize had the advantage of bigger stage, better lights, headlining slot, and well, just being Boys Noize.  That said, Felix managed to get his daytime crowd jumping, and was dropping some awesome fucking tracks.  He also just looked dope on stage.  He's come a long way since I first saw him for free at Vassar.

Beyond God To Elvis (Felix Cartal Remix) - From Monument To Masses
THIS MACHINE DON'T GIVE A SHIT

GOOD

Fedde Le Grand

Caught the end of his set before Boys Noize.  Good stuff, not as stand out as the above stuff, but definitely enjoyable.  Some songs were too minimal and just got boring and you could see it in the crowd, but he's redeem himself with the next song.  He played this Hardwell bootleg that I'm not too crazy about, but I love the song underneath it:

Laidback Luke

I'm sure he would have been in the best list, but we couldn't get onto the floor for the main stage.  We saw the end of his set from the stands where the sound was really shitty.  Then he dropped some Dubstep and Drum & Bass.  Hearing that at the Main Stage at EDC was nice.

Groove Armada

We didn't catch much of their set either, but it sounded dope.  We were just pretty tired then and their stuff was sort of trancier than we needed to get us hyped.  But I'll put em here.

WORST

Duck Sauce

This was such a disappointment to me.  When we got there, it just wasn't going over well.  I heard them drop one of their originals called Grand Steppin which is like the homage to Daft Punk's Homework, and the crowd was not having it really.  Don't get me wrong, I fucking love it, but it wasn't what I wanted to hear at a rave.  As we were leaving to catch Fedde, they dropped a dope House track, so maybe it was just the tiny amount of time we were there, but we weren't willing to wait around for it to get better.

Will.I.Am

Since when is playing a pop song, stopping it to say things, and then playing another pop song considered DJing?  We only saw him because we wanted to get into the main stage to see Laidback Luke, but it was impossible.  Hearing songs like Thriller mixed in is awesome, but when you're just playing these types of songs to be a crowd pleaser, you're a bitch, especially when you're not even mixing them.  Fuck you, Will.I.Am, I got a feeling you should stick to the studio.
