Mixers

Hello all.  It's been a drunk drunk weekend, from Richie Hawtin on Saturday to the world's favorite holiday.  I've got two mixes to share with y'all, so lets get to it.  Richie Hawtin review coming, briefly read "Believe The Hype."

-M

MOOMBAH VOL. 1 by iskream social

Here's a mix form a lovely lady that's been an avid AwB reader for a while and had even been featured before.  Very impressive mixing.  She also drops a track by AwB homies gLAdiator, making me a happy panda.  Check out iskream social.

Peanut Butter and Ladies by Roega

This one has the best track selection of any of the mixes I've heard recently.  If you're into Funky/Tech House, the kind that makes you fucking dance uncontrollably, give it a listen.  Check out Roega.

Ted Bundy

Something just aint right about those eyes.

-M

Walking Away (Mode CK Remix) - Chris Kaeser, Jonathan Mendelsohn (Golden Banana)
One of the top Progressive House tracks right now, doing extremely well on Beatport.  Driving and energetic, definitely more on the Housey side.  Pretty sure Mode CK = Chris Kaeser.

Feelin' (Crazibiza Remix) - Muzzaik (Silver Banana)
Crazibiza is just killing it.  House music!

Lady (Original Mix 2011) - Yohanne Simon Twill
Just gonna say, this is the furthest thing from an original mix there is.  But it is a very nicely revamped version of one of the greatest House tracks of all time to fit today's production standards.

Back In The Bongo (BEAT Salad DJ Tool) - Mc $pyda vs. Deekline & Solo ft. Manu Chao
Yes, you read it correctly.  God this must just kill when played live.

Jack The Ripper

The original and still unsolved to this day.  AwB is eating some spooky crisps for breakfast and thus have decided on this new theme.

Dat crazy DnB that makes you feel as if you've fallen into a new realm of existence.

Stronger (Original Mix) - Eddie Thoneick & Erick Morillo feat. Shawnee Taylor
HUGE House track with one of the most dancey lead drum things I've ever heard.

Jack The Ripper Zipped

Speaking of serial killers, wunderkind and AwB homie Flammenwerfer released tracks that one can now see are slaying crowds across the world:

New Theme

I think I've tired the Archer theme, which means it's time for a new post theme.  I could do like cool paintings or some shit, or pick another tv show, but I dunno!  I've just started a full time job basically, so my time has schedule is much less concerned with thinking about the blog.  But I'm still uploading each post over night and posting before work becuase I love you, I love you all so very very much.

In other news, we're are almost done mastering our French/Disco House EP.  We dropped two of the tracks at our last gig and they seemed to do the job.  So yah.  But I digress, please throw me some theme ideas in the comments so I can get started on a new one when I begin my upload tonight.

-M

Loose It (Ibiza Mix) - Alesso (Golden Banana)
Alesso.  Man.  Name of the month, maybe past few months.

Funkiest shit I've ever heard from Portman.  Tech House, but on the Housier side.

HUGE Dubstep track, and not one that's just overly abrasive but it actually has some merody, howbowtdat?

Regurgitate - Noisia

Moar Prog shiiiiiiii

New Theme Zipped

Also, I thought I'd let you know how these posts work so you get a sense of where you're getting these tracks from.  I download a shit ton of music from the blogs I read and from checking daily beatport releases, mostly for the House/Techno/DnB since blogs cover the rest of the more niche stuff.  Then I obviously listen to them tracks while separating tracks that I like or think enough people would like into my 'To Post' list.  Then every night, I pick 9 tracks at random by setting that playlist on shuffle and grabbing the first 9 unposted tracks and put them into another playlist.  Then I pick 1 Golden Banana and throw that in as well.  So there you have it, that's why sometimes new tracks get posted immediately and sometimes it's a weeks before they make it, but this place isn't about the newest shit always, it's just 10 dope tracks a day according to the mind of myself.  And maybe some nerdy ass video game humor.

Anka

You must address me by my title, Countess Von Fingerbang

Tech House on the extremely Funky side with the sample you all know and love.

Feelings Are Weapons That Can Kill feat Lisa Jane (Lutzenkirchen Remix) - Kevlar (Silver Banana)
Tech House on the Tribal side, EVERYONE needs more of this in their lives.  Really haunting vocals too.

Blow Out (Original Mix) - Felguk
There was a ton of hype on this track, but it wasn't really my thing.  Maybe I'm just missing it, or I need to hear it live.  Thoughts?  I normally love the shit out of Felguk too.

Numbers (Camo & Krooked Remix) - John B
More DnB on the pretty side, the line in this one gets stuck in my head but will probably annoy someone out there.

Traction (Club Mix) - Bart B More
Electro House on the Tech side.  Maybe Electro Techno, too lazy to change it now.

Zen (Original Club Mix) - Kim Fai
This wouldn't be an AwB post without some Prog House.  Gotta balance out the filth.

Tonic (Original Mix) - Russ Chimes
Some Electro House on the funky side.

Virgo (Canblaster Dub Remix) - King Cannibal
Funky on the ravey side.  This shit is just primal.

Our boys gLAdiator just made a mix and did an interview with Fade County.  Check it out HERE.

Wax Monsters

I'm extremely proud introduce some more underground shit to y'all.  Wax Monsters are dreamy Synth Pop group from Oberlin College.  Following in the trail of guys like Teengirl Fantasy, they've been starting to pick up steam with the release of their new self-titled EP.  I've been in contact with one of the members for a while, so I've had to opportunity to hear his sound evolve.  And I gotta say, I was blown away with this EP.  You've got the Synth Pop elements, along with some clear influences from more experimental producers like Baths and Daedelus.  So, if you're into music that makes you feel happy and like you're a child again, definitely cop this.

-M

Am I Going Mad? - Wax Monsters (Golden Banana)

My personal favorite on the EP.  I was sold the first time I heard the sample come in at 26 seconds, but then the track just evolves and builds into this beautiful feeling, similar to the happiness you had as a child content to just be running around in the sun.  The sample use is incredible.

Wax Monsters - Wax Monsters

This would be the whole EP.
