Breathless - Moonbeam (GOLDEN BANANA)
I love Moonbeam with a passion, any regular reader probably knows this.  It's where Techno meets Trance, and it's glorious.

Sunlight (Armand Van Helden Remix) - Bag Raiders (Silver Banana)
Feel good house music.  Crank the summer jams for Winter?

Autonomy (Original Mix) - Zedd
The chords in this track are absolutely incredible.  I wonder if they are sampled, but his solo over them lets me know that he at least understands them.  Electro House.

Stoli (Original Version) - Djuma Soundsystem & One Brother
Very relaxed, dark Progressive House.  Beautiful, but could only work at a Massive.

Going Back (Les Patrons Remix) - Bee4
Tech House, feels a lot like Deep House.

The 1st (Far Too Loud Re-fix) - X-Dream
These guys are one of my favorite recent discoveries that make BANGING Electro House.  This track is Breakbeat though.  They know the way to my heart for sure.

Tunnel Vision - Orbital
Speaking of breakbeat, here's some old school for you.  Not THAT old school, this is from 2004, just a mere 2 years before Justice hit the scene.

Tormenta Electronica (Original Mix) - Koen Groeneveld
Tech House, HUGH kick.  Also some 8bity sounds.

Cool (Original Mix) - Paul Thomas & Da Fresh
Progressive House on the major Tech side.  Also a sampled I've heard used several times already.

Feel Good - Modestep
I really like this sample.  Dubstep.

Ocean Drive (Open Your Mind) feat. Monia Amore (Vocal Mix) - David Penn (GOLDEN BANANA)
Super deep bass, sexy groove.  Such a killer House track.

Yalta Groove (Original Club Mix) - Mark Knight (Golden Banana)
Badass and sexy at the same time, just like Death Race 2.  Tech House.

Little By Little (Michael Cassette Remix) - Canyon Boulevard (Silver Banana)
Sweeping Progressive House, very much like Pryda.

Point (Original Mix) - NiCe7 (Silver Banana)
Goovey ass House track that's been riding the Beatport Top 10 chart for a long as time.  This track oozes classes out of every orifice.

Drowning (Avicii Remix) - Armin Van Buuren Feat Laura V
Big Room Progressive House, meant for stadiums.  *NOTE I misspelled Avicii (I'm really sorry) in the track so you should add one more i, especially if you do what I do and re-post the shit out of it.

Go (Original Mix) - DJ Antention
For the moshers, the heaviest of Electro.

Sabina (Four Four Bass Remix - Nadastrom Moombahton Edit) - Puga
Boooom bah dum bah, boooom bah dum bah.  Moombahton (duh).

R.E.S.P.E.C.T (Club Edit) - RLP & Barbara Tucker
This track has a funny surprise in it.  House.

I Need You (Original Mix) - Filthy Rich
Super subby bass on this driving Tech House track.

My Feelings (Original Mix) - Mac Zimms
Catchy Disco-ish sample.  Fun House music.

American Trash (Porter Robinson Remix) - Innerpartysystem (GOLDEN BANANA)
Porter shows us again why he's one of two people to be watching in 2011.  I'll reveal who I think the other is in the next post.  I'm obsessed with the calmer techy sections of this track actually, he really demonstrates his versatility.

Man Up The Hill (Gui Boratto Remix) - Anthony Rother (Silver Banana)
Beautiful Techno (Progressive Techno?) is amazing when done by the best.

Fuck Tha Police (Figure Bootleg) - NWA (Silver Banana)
Just press play.  Automatic crowd BOMB.  Electro/Fidget/Drumstep/Hip-hop.

Good 2 Me (Louis La Roche Edit) - Duck Sauce
Oh Disco House, god I love you.

Keep Up With You (Huoratron Remix) - Teenage Bad Girl
Banger City!  This also just makes me really want more TBG.

Zooloo (Pleasurekraft Remix) - Miles Dyson & Aaren San
Tech House, not really sure how else to describe this one.

Hot Mess (Oliver Remix) - Chromeo
Fun poppy Electro.

First Move - Burns & Fred Falke feat. Seb
Epicly long Synth Poppy French/Disco House.

Needed Change - 12th Planet & Skrillex
I like it when the bass goes WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Heaven (Original Mix) - Promise Land
Big sweeping Progressive House.  Feels like your flying over waterfalls.  Think of it like that cheesing episode from South Park but WAY gayer.

Shizzo + Incredible Mashups

New Boys Noize EP!  Also wik Housemeister!  Not that I really care about the latter, but let's do this piracy thing!

-M

Shizzo EP - Boys Noize & Housemeister

BONUS;

These are some of the BEST mashups I've ever heard, ever.  I'd call them bootlegs, but we're not here to argue of semantics, we're here to either rock out to dance music alone or bring these tracks to our awesome crowds.

Genesis Shot 1.5 (Thomas Radman Mash Up) - Justice vs Wolfgang Gartner (GOLDEN BANANA)
Oh my god, it's amazing.  Fantastic set opener, only use if you plan on making a serious impression from the get go.

Aerodynamic GTE (Thomas Radman Mash Up) - Daft Punk vs Feed Me (Golden Banana)
The way he chops in Aerodyanmic in the begining made me... well, you know.

Pong Around The World (Thomas Radman Mash Up) - Daft Punk vs. Wippenberg
While not as technically impressive as the above mashups (this it's lack of Banana status), still awesome.  It's also the only Prog one.

Definitely go check out Thomas Radman on his SOUNDCLOUD and fill up his tracks with comments so that everyone will be annoyed but he'll also look super legit.

Let The Children Techno!

If you had any doubt left in your mind that every Electro act east of the Atlantic hasn't got their eyes set on Techno, let this cast the final light.  Ed Banger climbs out of the Abyss in order to join forces with favorites from Boys Noize Records, Turbo, Institubes, and Brainfeeder (I know, crazy) to bring you a brand new compilation.  After a thorough listen, the album actually caught me by surprise since the overall feeling is much more relaxed than I anticipated as well asvery hit and miss.  That said, there are some real gems on this sucker and I will always have a hard on for anything with artwork by So Me.  Regardless, we can all just be thankful that while DSL made the cover, they most certainly didn't make the compilation.

-M

Anagogue (Original Mix) - Brodinski & Tony Senghore (Golden Banana)
Brodinski is KILLING it right now.  This is probably my favorite from the comp.

Shades Of Black (Original Mix) - Breakbot (Silver Banana)
Breakbot doing what he does best, and that of course is bringing the Disco.

Caravan Of Delight (Original Mix) - Flying Lotus
The odd one out on the album.  Who cares, the man makes art.

Let The Children Techno
Grab the whole compilation for more tracks by other awesome guys like Siriusmo, Gesaffelstein, Skream, Duke Dumont, Zombie Nation, Djedjotronic...

Also read the review from Ilictronix, where we disagree over a lot.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to bring you a message from Kevin Saunderson.  Recently, a group called Supernova heavily sampled his track The Sound in their track Beat Me Back (posted by me HERE).  You can listen to the orignal below, and click on the link to read his response.

Lucky EP Out Now

Our bestest buddies that go by the name of gLAdiator just released their debut EP on Noise Porn Records, featuring a remix from Bastille!  Who the fuck are Bastille?  I don't know, but they sound awesome, and they had that one killer Cold As Ice Remix from way back, remember?  Or what about that delicious B More edit of Modjo's Lady that gLAdiator put out? Anyways, you should check out the EP on Beatport.  It's pretty killer, and its also the Beatport debut for both gLAdiator and Bastille.  Support the little guy while we keep screwing the bigger ones together.  Who doesn't want to be Robin Hood?

Full Stop - Cirez D (GOLDEN BANANA)
I love how Prydz created Cirez D as a joke, but he's since used it to put out some of his best tracks.  Techno on the Progressive side.

Black Ops (Daniel Portman Remix) - Weekend Heroes (Silver Banana)
Portman ALWAYS kills it.  And I love the title of this track, reminds me that a lot of these producers are on the same page as us.  This is extremely epic and driving Progressive House.

Ride (Original Mix) - Frater & Stent
Super catchy sample House.  Sounds like an 80s sample, great horns.

Drop Acid (Figure Remix) - Bart B More and Tommie Sunshine
Jack Beats, is that you?  Can't wait for the original of this to come out as well.

Simple State of Mind (Original Mix) - Charles I (Golden Banana)
Disco House, my ultimate soft spot.

Time To Change (Part 2) - Highbloo
Disco Techno?  Great sample chopping on top of a single note bass with a rising pitch.

My Bad (Club Mix) - The Partysquad Ft. Roxy Cottontail
Electro Dutch House, totally dropping this next set.

La Samba (Original Mix) - DJ Chus & Mikel Curcio
The tempo drops out in the middle to allow for a tribal breakdown of percussion call and response.  Where all my West Af dancers at?  This would totally KILL at a rave.

King Of The Night (Koen Groeneveld Remix) - Flippers vs. DJ Slater Ft. U-Prag
Techno rules

Big Perm (Harvard Bass's Permed Out Remix) - Worthy
And some Tech House to finish up.  I've always had respect for Harvard Bass managing to win over the Electro blog world with his Techy stuff.

Progressive House with an awesome vocal sound/melody.  God I love Big Room when it's done well.

Are You Ready (Mahesa Utara Remix) - Angger Dimas (Silver Banana)
Starts at 128, drops at Moombahton tempo, goes back to Dutch House.  This track is SO killer.

Beat Sauce (Party Ben Bootleg) - Duck Sauce vs. Michael Jackson
I heard this played out a bit during winter break.  It's actually a great mashup.

Haasten (Original Mix) - Egbert
Minimal Techno is the shit.  I AM LORD TECHNO!

Rude Boy (Vocal Version) - Zeds Dead & Omar Linx
Dubstep.  I like the drums because they're definitely sampled from a kit, gives the track some swagger.

Rude Boy (Jordan Santero Remix) - Zeds Dead & Omar Linx
Starts UK Funky, then drops into heavier Electro.

Honeymoon (Louis La Roche Modernized Edit) - DJ Flacon
Great update of a classic.  French/Disco House if you're unfamiliar with these names.  AND, if you are unfamiliar, you really should click HERE.

Zero 76 (Original Mix) - Tiesto & Hardwell
Big collab hum boh gee.  It's good, but not like earth shattering or anything.  Progressive House on the ravier side.

Welcome To The Club (Original Club Mix) - D.O.N.S. & Jesse Voorn
Progressive House on the Houssier side.

Live Your Life (Redlight Mix) - Erick Morillo & Eddie Thoneick feat. Shawnee Taylor
UK Funky on the ravier side.

Greenville Massive - The Suburbs EP

I try not to post twice a day, but I had to make an exception for this EP.  Beautiful, melodically driven Minimal/Tech/Deep House.  Hard to define, not hard to listen to.  Have a listen for yourself:

-M

LOST - Greenville Massive (GOLDEN BANANA)
Beautiful.

The Suburbs EP - Greenville Massive

Ancova (Dry Edit) - Mumbai Science (GOLDEN BANANA)
So ready to hear this dropped at HARD this spring.  Tech House, pure rave.

Hungry Pony (Original Mix) - Darwin & Backwall (Silver Banana)
In my world, everyone's a pony, and they all eat rainbows, and poop butterflies.  +100 Bastille Love and Admiration Points if you know what the vocal sample is from.

Flash (Nicky Romero Remix) - Green Velvet
My friend actually begged me to ID this track after he heard Sebastian Ingrosso drop it at Webster Hall.

White Noise Red Meat (Bassjackers Remix) - Dada Life
Definitely the best remix of this track.  Electro House.

Seven Nation Army (The Glitch Mob Remix) - The White Stripes
AWESOME remix, I love getting emails from these guys.  They're very good about giving away free music, and this more fantastic work from them.

Amphetamine (Umek Remix) - Drax, Thomas P Heckmann, Drax Ltd II
Techno from one of the best.  Kinda Trancey line.

On the Loose (Spektre Remix) - Christian Cambas
More Techno from another one of the best.  This one's way more relaxed than usual.

Toyg (Manuel De La Mare Edit) - The Old Young Guy
Tech House, kinda dark/tribal feel.

Playground (Original Mix) - Jay Lumen
Tech House with a tribal feel.

Patience (HULK Remix) - Nas & Damian Marley

I've got to say, I'm very disappointed in Milan after their performance against Tottenham.  Being big fans of both clubs, I couldn't believe how cuntish Milan behaved.  Tsk Tsk.

Control Room (Original Club Mix) - Fedde Le Grand (Golden Banana)
Tech House banger.  Definitely dropping this next gig without question.

How Soon Is Control Room (Bastille Bootleg) - Fedde Le Grand vs. Guetta, Ingrosso, Dirty South vs. Avicii
Actually, I'll probably drop my own bootleg of it.  Hope all you readers enjoy it.

Lights (Bassnectar Remix) - Ellie Goulding (Golden Banana)
Epic Dubstep chune right here.  Her voice makes me fall in love every time I hear it.

Melocoton (Original Mix) - Alex Kenji & Bass Kleph (Silver Banana)
This collaboration makes so much sense.  Nice Tech Hous, not the dark kind.

Through The Prism (Dada Life Remix) - Designer Drugs
Great Electro House in that Dada style we all love.

Voodoo (Original Mix) - Austin Leeds
Driving Progressive House.

Moanin (Original Mix) - Apster feat. Bizzey
Dutch House

Self Control (Thomas Gold Dub Mix) - Dim Chris, Thomas Gold
More Progressive House, definitely on the Housey side.

Why Won't You Make Up Your Mind? (Erol Alkan Rework) - Tame Impala
Electro I guess?  Just more Indie-ish, definitely melodic and catchy.  Erol always delivers.

On My Own (Burns ESM Remix) - Yasmin (GOLDEN BANANA)
Organ House is the bomb.  This one's got some Dutch flavor in it, but it's House to the core.  Also, SUPERB vocal chopping.

Original Challenge (Original Mix) - Umek & Tomy DeClerque (Silver Banana)
This one's doing pretty well on the Beatport charts.  Techy track with an Italo Disco feel to it.  Planning on dropping this next gig.

Rave O Bitch Up (Tristan Garner Bootleg) - David Tort Vs Prodigy VS Max Vangeli & An21 (Silver Banana)
It's surprising how many big DJs drop bootlegs in their sets.  I'm definitely planning on dropping this one though.

Till The Light Comes - Solila
Some Nu Disco for you classy folk.

Blockhead (Hey Today! Remix) - Punks Jump Up
Electro Techno?  I think I mislabeled this one in my iTunes, but oh well.  Hey Today! have been murdering every remix they do.

On the Loose (Original Mix) - Christian Cambas
Techno rules.  I just hope that the blog world will open up to this style of Minimal Techno now that a lot of the former Electro guys are getting techier.

Call My Name feat. Nadia Ali (Spencer & Hill Remix) - Sultan, Ned Shepard, Nadia Ali
Electrogressive?  Pretty track with an edge.  Top notch as you should expect from these guys.

Sun Splash - Outart
Some more relaxed Techno, much more groovy/tribal.  Definitely perfect for the right setting, but I wouldn't drop this at a college.  Definitely would for a bar or something.

Rude Boy (Union Vocal Version) - Zeds Dead & Omar Linx
Dubstep --> Drum & Bass.  Great for sets that want to transition from those genres.

One More Time (Daft Punk & Stardust Rework) - Arno Cost
Great bootleg, on the proggy side.  Excellent to play some Big Room style and have everyone sing along / cheer.

Livin' in a New Jack City

+50 Bastille Love and Admiration Points to the first person who can name Chris Rock's character from New Jack City pictured above.

What up world, my name is Ian and I'm the other half of gLAdiator. I couldn't let Danl have all the fun, so I decided to get in on this blogging shit.

This post is all about my current love affair with a genre of music called New Jack Swing. It is a fusion genre popular from the late-1980s into the mid-1990s. It fuses the rhythms, samples and production techniques of hip-hop and dance-pop with the urban contemporary sound of R&B. New Jack Swing did not take up the trend of using sampled beats, and instead created beats using the then-new SP-1200 and Roland 808 drum machines to lay an "insistent beat under light melody lines and clearly enunciated vocals.' The sound of new jack swing comes from the hip hop "swing" beats created by drum machine, and hardware samplers. The genre was dominated by a few artists like Bobby Brown, BBD, Keith Sweat, etc. and producers like Teddy Riley, all using the same equipment, which lead to a lot of songs that sound very similar. But the real star of these songs are the vocals.

Bell Biv DeVoe - Do Me!
Everyone and their moms has heard Poison, but I bet if you were born after 1992, you didn't even know these guys had more than one song. Real sexy stuff.

Bobby Brown - On Our Own
Theme song from Ghostbusters II. Nuff said.

Color Me Badd - I Wanna Sex You Up
Color Me Badd is synonymous with 'one-hit-wonder' and this is it. The song has increasingly become a target of ridicule the further we move away from the 90's, but I love this shit. Two guesses about what the song is about.

Keith Sweat - I Want Her
Arguably the biggest hit of his career.

Michael Jackson - Remember the Time
One of my favorite MJ songs of all time that, in my opinion, doesn't get enough love. This is from the album Dangerous, which came out in 1991, during the peak of the NJS craze.

Paula Abdul - (It's Just) The Way That You Love Me
Yes, Paula Abdul actually used to make music (and was a Laker Girl) before she went crazy and started judging American Idol. Super catchy chorus and super cheesy guitar solo. Yes please.

Enjoy the tunes! I have a bunch more of this stuff to unleash on you fools soon.

xoxo,
Ian

Theme Building Like A Boss

Risky Fresh's very own Hip Hop specialist just put out his latest beat tape, and this shit is pure fire.  If I had to describe Boss' style, it would be like cruising through Los Angeles at night while also being a badass loose cannon cop from a 1970s TV show.  That said, the compliation varies a lot too, with some clear influences from J Dilla, DJ Shadow, and Flying Lotus to name a few (there's even an M.I.A. style beat on it).  He samples like a Boss and programs drums like no other (listen for the classic Boss congas).  Be sure to check out his MYSPACE.

Theme Building - Boss
This is the whole beat tape, and I can't recommend it anymore highly.

And here are a few samples if you'd rather try before you buy download it.

Riders - Boss (GOLDEN BANANA)
If beat tapes had singles, this would be it.  The chorus will turn the whitest of men into a gospel preacher.

Delta - Boss (Silver Banana)
This beat is probably my personal favorite on the tape.  It really epitomizes that 70s cop show feel that I'm talking about.

Imagination - Boss
Willy Wonka beat.

I want to say that they're the best Techno out there right now.  It's a pretty bold claim, and we all tend to make big sweeping statements like that daily.  But like, they're the best.

Are you ready?

Electro House, great track.  If your read this blog, you probably know what to expect from these guys anyways.

House, awesome, disco vibes.  Big Room style too.  I also enjoy the title, because to Bastille, Rollin' Deep means blasting intimidating Techno or extremely abrasive Dubstep while driving and ever breaking eye contact with the person in the car / walking next to you.

Cool Electro House track from an up and comer I discovered from Massachusetts.  Definitely grab this one.  Also be sure to check out his SOUNDCLOUD.

Massive Progressive House track, reminiscent of Pryda.  This also feels like it could have been in Tron.

Rave House.  I don't really know how to classify this sort of stuff.  It's got that Dutchy boom ba dum ba boom thing, and it's minimal and super dancey.  This is totally something Steve Angello would drop.

For the Techno heads out there.

Because somebody always wants Dubstep (you know who you are).

A gem from the Ghost Busters 2 soundtrack.  Cheers to gLAdiator for this one.

Warrior's Dance (Far Too Loud Refix) - The Prodigy (Golden Banana)
I love the original so much, now you can play it in an Electro House set.  The second buildup is nuts.

Wash It! - Popof (Silver Banana)
One of the greatest Techno producers right now.  To have a distinct sound in Techno is very difficult, and Popof does.

The Wildcat (Lazy Rich Remix) - Porter Robinson (Silver Banana)
There shouldn't be any need for explanation on this one.

Scorpio - Rankin
Drumstep!

Meiri (Sultan & Ned Shepard Edit) - Thomas Sagstad
What up Progressive House

Windows (Chocolate Puma Remix) - Sil
The "true" Dutch House.  You don't need that annoying high saw wave to have Dutch House, it's all in the drums.

Nights (Nadastrom Remix)  - Pase Rock
But if you NEED that high synth, grab this Techy/Dutch track.

Sudoku (Original Mix) - Saxxo
Cool Tech House from Holland, think like Hardwell or JoeySuki.

Yeah Yeah Yeah (Electro Mix) - Spencer & Hill
This track would be so much better without the shitty vocals.  You can still hear them trying to be like Wolfgang Gartner.

Shadows (Andrea Bertolini & Vanshock Remix) - Miss Motif, Ee-Sma
ANother track that would be better as an instrumental.  Beautiful Progressive House chords.

82nd Airborne (Original Mix) - Daniel Portman, Stanley Ross (Golden Banana)
Daniel Portman is just one of these wonder producers that falls somewhere between Tech, Prog, and Trance.  Hard to classify, but definitely not hard to listen to.  Impeccable production.

Hysteresis (Original Mix) - Sharooz (Silver Banana)
Awesome Electro House with that driving feel of the new Acid tracks coming out (not BNR, more like Pacha On Acid).

Gave Me Love (David Jones Mix) - The Cube Guys, David Jones (Silver Banana)
Hau5 music for life.  Got that classic Disco feel, love it.  Found this on Avicii's Beatport chart.

Sucker Punch - Gtronic
Awesome driving Electro track.  Heavy and danceable.

Beat Me Back (Original Mix) - Supernova
EDIT* this track is a rip off of Kevin Saunderson without permission

Valhalla - SPL & Triage
Heavy ass Dubstep that's either sampling or heavily inspired by Hard Trance, and I have a big soft spot for Hard Trance.  If you do too, click HERE.

Windows (Oliver Twizt Remix) - Sil
Erie Tech House with a Dutch feel, this would definitely kill at a rave.

Hamlet (No Body's Just Brain Edit) - Stedd & Numca
Super Big Room Progressive House.  Really catchy and danceable, this could actually work for a college crowd, just throw a Will.I.Am. acapella over it.

Sabotage (Original Mix) - Jason Taylor
Tech House, more like it's genre than the other Tech House tracks above.  Great rolling bass, I don't know how else to describe those Tech basses that just sort of pitch bend all around rather than play a line per se.

I Am The Beat feat. Louisahhh!!! (Treasure Fingers Remix) - Senor Stereo
And some classic feeling House to end.

The Pope Of Dope - Party Harders & The Subs (GOLDEN BANANA)
Extremely fun, energetic House music, totally could see Jack Beats dropping this.

Hot Mess (Djedjotronic Remix) - Chromeo (Silver Banana)
Techno or Tech House, whatever, it's awesome.  BNR is killing it.

Raven (Laidback Luke Edit) - Proxy
An update on a classic.  More Housey with a lot more drums/percussion.  I'd probably recommend mixing into this from the original, since I think it's minimal drop is harder for the first time.

My Lips (Original Mix) - Crazibiza
Beatport topping House music, had a good long run on the top 10 chart.

Cooler Couleur (Junkie XL Remix) - Crookers feat. Yelle
Electro House but slower tempo, makes it feel like Nu Disco.  Fantastic remix for sure.

Original Hardcore (Moguai Edit) - Moguai & Westbam
Electro House driven by a short, chopped sample.

Blow Up (Hook N Sling & Goodwill Remix) - Hard Rock Sofa, St. Brothers
ELECTRO + PROGRESSIVE = ELECTROGRESSIVE

Hot Mess (Duck Sauce Remix)  - Chromeo
Not quite up to the same standard as their other tracks, but definitely still a fun disco jam.

1-2-3-4 (Original Mix) - DJ Bam Bam, Alex Peace
Poppy Dutch House with an unexpected Electro drop at the end.  gLAdiator should be all over this one.

Only You (Ken Loi Remix) - Kaskade & Tiesto feat. Haley
And some extremely heavy Progressive House, dare is say ELECTROGRESSIVE?  I dare.

Excellent House track, super funky/groovy.  Really everything you want in a House track.  The horn sample kills.
Electro Techno FTW.  Definitely the hottest shit right now, and this guy is killing it.  If you want my favorite track of his, click HERE.

Prog House remix of the track EVERY EDM nerd is talking about.  No Dubstep in this though, just the acapella.

There is lots of Dubstep in this one however.  Big tune, I'd most certainly drop this one.

BIG Prog House, extremely Housey.

Feel like your lacking that old school drum machine vibe in your Techno?  CRY NO MORE.  The hi hat patterns remind me of old school Bangalter.

Progressive House with a swung feel and super Techy parts.  I could see Tiesto dropping this.

Speaker blowing crazy evil Dubstep.

When Industrial Heavy Metal meets Electro, you get this track.  For the headbangers and moshers.

Start The Party (Original Mix) - Far Too Loud (Golden Banana)
Like Lazy Rich, Porter Robinson, etc?  This track is for you.  Awesome chopped up Electro House.

Optinuum (Original Mix) - Moguai (Golden Banana)
Sounds like something off of Vitalic's OK Cowboy, but Progressive House.  In otherwords, incredibly beautiful while still hard/danceable.

White Noise / Red Meat (Original Mix) - Dada Life (Silver Banana)
Another banger with their signature sound.  Moar cowbell?

Tonight (Herve Voodoo Chilli Remix) - Moonbootica
Awesome remix, though he had a great original to work off of.  But this one is way more DJ friendly, and has Electro parts.

Tonight (Original Mix) - Moonbootica
The original, fantastic samples.  House rules.

Beat Down (Original Mix) - Tai
Electro Techno.  Play something none of the DJs here are playing yet.  Anti-pop music.

Paranoize (Adam Beyer & Jesper Dahlback Remix) - Alan Fitzpatrick (Silver Banana)
And some straight up Minimal Techno, for those in the know.

Talkbox (Camo & Krooked Remix) - Fresh
DnB by one of my favorite production duos.  Always top notch stuff.

Flatland (Original Mix) - Sound of Stereo
More Electro Techno,  the hook on this makes it bouncey.  It's got the riddim drums too, if you're into those.

Feel Good (Original Mix) - Aniki
Is this called Bassline?  Sounds like it's going to be Disco/Fidget House, but I think you're supposed to call this Bassline.

DUBSTEP, but not super maximal.  This should be played by every Dubstep DJ that reads this blog, heavy without losing swagger.  MRK1 was also the first Dubstep show I ever saw, I didn't even know what it was called then.  He was right before FlyLo at this warehouse off Central ave. in Los Angeles sometime in 08.  It was awesome.

I-tune (Original Mix) - Miles Dyson (REMOVED)
+50 Bastille Love and Admiration Points for whoever can name a song that uses the same string sample as this one.  Electro House.

Cirque Du Cologne - Pierce & Jerl
House Musica!  Tribal-y.

Red Light Rev (Original Mix) - BioBlitZ
Electro House, kind of reminds me of the new Feed Me.  Really fun, moving lines and chords rather than just one note.  Shame to have this at the bottom of the post, it's not a bottom track.

Blow Up (Thomas Gold vs. Axwell Remix) - Hard Rock Sofa, St. Brothers (GOLDEN BANANA)
This is another one of those tracks where like, you hear the drop and just straight up shit yourself.  For those of you that don't think Progressive House can drop hard...

Out Of Body - Jack Beats (Golden Banana)
I must have missed this one when it came out, but I definitely remember hearing them drop this.  I must have picked this up in a best of 2010 list somewhere.  This is definitely a memorable track, and I'll leave it at that.

Everyday (Digital Lab Dub) - Sgt Slick (Silver Banana)
Dropping bananas all over this post.  This is a BIG Progressive House track on the Housey side, especially with them piano chords.  BIG sound due to the Trance kick and just full amazing production, this will definitely be played out by big DJs.

California Roll - Mightyfools (Silver Banana)
Big step up for these guys, awesome Electro House.  Really fun and driving, and fantastic melody.

While My Wiki Gently Leaks (Original Mix) - Olivier Giacomotto & John Acquaviva (Silver Banana)
Fantastic Minimal Techno.  Also great title.

Jupiter (Original Mix) - Tom Flynn
More Minimal Techno, more on the weird side.  Could be mixed with some of those new SMD tracks for sure.

Golden Choice (Andrea Bertolini Remix) - Flippers
Progressive House with great drums.  Basically more like groovy Tech House with Prog elements.

Gaijin (Original Mix) - Egostereo
Like your Techno super dark and pretty?  I do too.  Progressive Techno?  This track would hit SO HARD on the right system.

Why Don't You Stay - fRew
Subtley dirty Electro House bass?  Is that possible?

Over You (Original Mix) - Darren Correa & Mehrbod feat. Maya Sega
Progressive House

But srsly, don't try to zip him because he will f you up

Roman Abramovich

I own the biggest yacht in the world, complete with its own missile defense system, a 40 person private army, and Chelsea FC.  Who the fuck are you?

Pancadao Supersonico (feat. Edu K) - Blatta & Inesha
This reminds me of the good ol days of Electro.  Except it's got some Brazilian rap on top, but hey, that's a plus right?

Losing Control (Highbloo Remix) - Jaimie Fanatic
Some Techno with high pitched siren-y sounds and pitch bends.

Dataloss (Darth & Vader Remix) - Freefire
Crazy chopped up American style Electro House.

Suonasse (Original Mix) - Lookback
Really simple, groovy House music.

Flirt (Original Extended Mix) - John Dahlback ft Terri B
House, awesome samples.

Flirt (Club Mix) - John Dahlback ft Terri B
Kinda Dutchy, but really its just Minimal House.

Coming Home (Dirty South Club Mix) - Diddy-Dirty Money feat. Skylar Grey
Wow, the vocals on this rule, but of course that's from the original.  Dirty South just turns it into Prog House.

Bring The Beat Back (Original Mix) - ATFC
Some more straight up House.

Dadadisco (Original Mix) - Jesse Voorn & Jorgensen
Techno

Embrace (Original Club Mix) - EDX
Progressive House from one of the best producers in the genre.  Still, I wouldn't be able to tell any of his tracks apart, but I'd know that they're his.

Well I've been about as excited about getting my hands on this like Husky with a TLO pack.

Boys Noize Presents Super Acid

And here's my favorite gem from the comp:

Extreme Compote - Brodinski, Djedjotronic, Noob & Harvard Bass (GOLDEN BANANA)
I mean, just look at this lineup.

Now I just get to sit back and watch the hits on this fucker skyrocket for a bit.

Tom Foolery and the Adhesive Band

So, every so often, I get a little audacious and venture out into the world beyond EDM.  I was sent this delightful little EP that's definitely worth checking out.  And don't worry, there are synths, I wouldn't go that far away.  But it's very singer/songwriter with great melodies and voices.  And the lyrics to the track called Sean Connery are literally the greatest thing I've ever heard.  The album cover really should hint at the overall sound.  Regardless, I hope you enjoy.  Support the little guy!

Lovevolves - Tom Foolery and the Adhesive Band

Robinho

Doin my little dance, cuz I just scored a goal.  What of it?  It's just like playing Fifa, no?

Trigger (Original Mix) - MyBack (Golden Banana)
This came out a while ago, but I never got to it.  MyBack = John Dahlback + Albin Myers.  You should be sold.

Free Tribe (Original Mix)  - Tube & Berger
House, on the tribal side.

Oh Yeah (Original Mix) - Bass Kleph (Silver Banana)
This dude is killing it right now, putting out a slew of awesome Tech House tracks.  Don't skip anything with his name attached.

Moonwalker - Wilkinson
Yay DnB.  Do people that read this blog even like DnB?

Satisfaction (J. Rabbit Remix) - Benny Benassi (Silver Banana)
Because everyone loves this song, but wants to hear Dubstep.

Szeplo (Original Mix) - EDX
A little bit harder than his usual sound, still Progressive to the max, but this could be played.

Controller (Original Mix) - Muffler
More balls out Dubstep.

Turn The Lights Off (Dave Darell Remix) - Kato feat. Jon
It's got Progressive, Electro, and Dutch flavors.

Four On The Floor (Dodge & Fuski Remix) - GODSALL, Sean
Fun Dubstep, got a 4 to the floor part (duh) which I always love in Dubstep.

Stomp - Dayn
And moar Dubstep.
